A friend saw this conductor and his driver along
Lokoja....Abuja road deliberately pouring WATER into a fuel
laden conoil branded trailer....no XA 324 GBJ.....yesterday 20th Dec, 2014

Obviously they had sold up to a drum. This is because in his presence they emptied 4 gallons of water....pls rebroadcast until the authorities get this despicable act....if u don't buy the
fuel.....your friend or relative might.

Bro this is the normal thing in nigeria..almost all tanker driver do this..

It's not strange!

It's a common practice among tanker drivers.

Most logical reason is... He has sold some quantity, and the water will go to the bottom and replace what he sold...

But, petrol will actually stay down cause it is heavier.

Actually the practice of pouring water in the tanker is not always for fraudulent purpose. They sometimes use it to clean the tank or something like, I was once told by a dealer friend.

I'm suprised this informative thread is not yet on FP. Seun, Ishilove and co, is it because it's not about one yeyebrity pouring the water?

There is really no cause for alarm here. That is the normal practice when tankers develop serious licking issues around the discharge valve. The idea is since water is heavier than fuel like someone rightly pointed out above, it stays down and cloak such lickages hence preventing the actual fuel product from licking. During discharge, the drivers or owners of the product always do what is commonly known as "flushing" to first drain out the contaminated fuel which of course will come out first, before discharging the fuel proper.
