At least 80 Boko Haram insurgents and two soldiers lost their lives when suspected members of dreaded Boko Haram sect laid ambush along the troubled Maiduguri- Damboa road which was closed down for motorists since July this year.

The clash according to reliable sources occurred at the week end when some military personnel attached to 7 Division, Nigerian Army were on their way to Damboa, the headquarters of Damboa local government area of Borno state.

This attack is coming barely 48 hours when some military troops succeeded in killing 75 insurgents in a failed attempt to attack engineers and electricians who were repairing the vandalized transmission lines by terrorists, in a remote village of Komala along the 185km Maiduguri- Damboa- Biu road since July this year and the latest killing of over 110 terrorists who attacked Damboa at the weekend.

The whole of Maiduguri and its environs had remained in a total blackout following the vandalized power lines and this was the third attempt by security forces and the staff of PHCN to restore power to the city of Maiduguri but to no avail.

The source said “military personnel were on their way to Damboa to give security cover to the staff of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) who were in Damboa to repair some destroyed electric cables along Maiduguri-Damboa road but they were ambushed by insurgents living two soldiers dead and over 80 terrorists dead over the week end.

A security source who does not want his name in print told our correspondent that “as the troopa were moving towards Damboa, one Boko Haram terrorist suddenly appeared to them on the road with a female by his side both with AK47 rifles and they were all cleared by troops, however, unknown to the troops, many of the terrorists were hidden by the road side.

“As the troops approaches, the insurgents shot a Rocket propelled Grenade (RPG) on one of the troops vehicles killing two soldiers”. the sourced stated.

If truly 1) there is a state of emergency in the troubled states, 2) our soldiers are equipped with good equipments 3) they are motivated...I see no reason why we keep hearing about dis boko ish everyday...so regular dis days.

But the truth is we hv been deceived that there is a state of emergency in the states, meanwhile the president has left the pple to die, inorder to ensure elections don't hold there. If u knw what really a state of emergency is, u will knw there is a p somewhere.

Also our soldiers are being given old guns to fight boko guys that hv as a minimum gun std Ak47, while their Generals are stealing our money.
