PDP Big Men Decamp To APC In Sokoto State.. 3,000+ Members by Nobody: 11:08am On Dec 22, 2014
Since the emergence of Speaker Aminu Tambuwal as the
governorship candidate of the APC in Sokoto State, it
appears some members PDP are now pitching their tent
with the APC, moving forward.
About 3,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) in Isa local government of Sokoto State on Sunday
defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Umar Mohammed Wali, the local government caretaker
committee chairman, who disclosed this, stated that the PDP
members took the decision to join APC not out of any
compulsion but with the conviction that the APC is the
expected liberator Nigerians have been longing for.
He aid the defectors, who are from the local government
of Ex-governor Attahiru Bafarawa, now a chieftain of the
PDP in the state, defected to the APC because they had
seen that Bafarawa had lost his political grip of the masses
and his kinsmen.
According to him, Bafarawa and his political mastery is now
past tense as far as they are concerned.
He assured that APC had not only stamped its feet on the
land but had equally overcome any challenges ahead of the
forthcoming election.
On his part, Governor Aliyu Wamakko, who was represented
by the commissioner for agriculture, Alhaji Arzika Tureta,
assured the defectors of equal treatment as justice remains
the watchword in APC.
Wamakko further advised other local governments in the
state to emulate the defection wave which had just begun
from Isa and will subsequently go round the entire
state, hence they have seen that APC is the only hope for
Nigerians.
