Obanikoro Concedes Defeat, To Return As Minister Of State For Defence by Solutioncrib: 9:57am On Dec 23, 2014 |
•To withdraw case from court Former Minister of State for Defence and gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has accepted the result of the December 8 Lagos PDP gubernatorial primary which returned Jimi Agbaje as winner. Consequently, Obanikoro is to withdraw the case he instituted in court challenging the outcome of the gubernatorial primaries. He will also any moment from now return to his post as Minister of State for Defence, an office he relinquished to contest the gubernatorial election in Lagos State. His return may be announced anytime from today. These were the fallout of a meeting Obanikoro held with President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday at the Presidential Villa, where he was prevailed upon to let sleeping dogs lie in the interest of the PDP in Lagos State. Our Source gathered that Obanikoro's return to office as Minister of State for Defence does not require any screening by the National assembly, since according to impeccable source, he was deemed to have gone on leave. Also in attendance at the meeting was the Lagos PDP gubernatorial candidate,Agbaje, whose victory has been a bone of contention, pitching Obanikoro against former Deputy National Chairman, South, of the PDP, Chief Olabode George and former Minister of Works, Adeseye Ogunlewe, leading to throwing of brickbats from the two camps. As at the time of filing this report, Obanikoro was in another round of meeting with the Vice President, Arch Namadi Sambo at the Presidential Villa, to fine tune the process of his return to the office he vacated shortly before the October 20 deadline for members of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, aspiring for elective offices to vacate their seats. Our Source investigations revealed that the truce brokered in the Lagos PDP gubernatorial imbroglio was an indication of PDP's attempt to give the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos a run for its money. It was also learnt that the bulk of the over N21 billion raised at the weekend in aid of President Jonathan's campaign would be expended on prosecuting the 2015 general elections in South-West, with special emphasis on Lagos State, which had remained elusive to the PDP since the advent of the present democratic dispensation in 1999. It would be recalled that Obanikoro had rejected the outcome of the Lagos PDP primaries which returned Agbaje as winner, alleging discrepancies in the number of accredited voters and the total votes cast. He should have continued beating a dead horse. After all, anyone who emerges PDP Guber Candidate in Lagos State, is still gonna suffer a serious setback with APC' Victory! 3 Likes 1 Share |

I guess gej just called him that he would be needing his services with tompolo, fayose, wike, dokubor and al mustapha in his campaign. After him and the ex convict had finish killing themselves in public, he would gladly walk in straight back to the pdp. We know what pdp stand for. Jail awaits them all 2 Likes |
