Shipping Charges

The shipping cost is different in every particular case, because the cars are not gathered in one place; On the contrary, they are located in different states of USA and provinces of Canada. To remind, the nearer the car is to the exit port the lower gets its shipping charge.
In order to have a general idea about the shipping cost of a car that you are considering to buy, you can use the Shipping calculator provided in the car’s profile.
As well, you can always send an email to our Shipping department on shipping@auctionexport.com in order to check the exact shipping charges.
In the “Shipping” section of the website, you will find a step-by-step discription of our transportation process - https://www.auctionexport.com/en/Home/Shipping

New Jersey Port Gate Reconstruction

Most cars that shipped to Nigeria are going our from Bayonne port wink
The one of the busiest ports in USA - New Jersey port decided to make some improvements for bigger ships to call. Bayonne bridge is one of the Port's authorities project. It is the fifth-longest steel arch bridge in the world connecting New Jersey with Staten Island, New York. $1.3 billion 5-year project is to raise it and allow new-Panamax vessels to come into Newark Bay. At the moment the highest point of the bridge is 156 feet, but shortly it will reach 175 feet. The impetus for local port authorities was the expansion of Panama Canal and the shipbuilding tendency of giant ships.

Receiving your car at Destination Port

Container: When shipping a full container load the container will be released to the consignee provided. When shipping a less than full container load the container will be assigned to a destination agent who will de-consolidate the cargo to the respective consignees.

RORO: The consignee will receive the vehicle at the port using the Original Bill of Lading or Telex release.

Documents: The title and OBL will be sent via express courier to the consignee as soon as they are received from the U.S. Customs.

Please note Auction Export does not provide customs clearance services at the destination country and it is the client's responsibility to clear their cargo.

World's Largest Heavy Ship

Have you ever imagined that there vessels that can carry other vessels? Huge containerships with thousands of cars on the board. Here is the largest heavy lift ship ever, it's open deck is 70x275 meters and capacity of 117 000 tons. For comparison, the next largest HTV (Heavy Marine Transport Vessel) has only 65 000 tons.
Such vessels are called "V-class" and Hyundai Heavy Industries already thinking of creating such second giant.
Such ships help a lot in moving damaged or sunken vessels or even the whole buildings, as well as bridge bearings.

How to get the Precise Shipping Price for a Particular Car

Checked with the Shipping calculator, and now want to be get the precise quote for your car? You can send email to our Transportation department to shipping@auctionexport.com
For us to provide you with an accurate quote we do need the LOT number of the vehicle. You can find a LOT number on every vehicle profile to the right side from the main picture. LOT number will provide us with all the details, such as current vehicle location, as sometimes cars are located close to the port of departure and sometimes it may take 2 days to deliver a car to the port of departure, and the vehicle's condition (this is extremely important for us to understand if the vehicle is drivable or not, can the engine starts or not and etc).
We also need to know the Port of destination, so please mention the port of destination in your email. It will help to provide you with an accurate quote as we can calculate everything.

Hurricane Season has landed in Florida

Hurricane Season has landed in FL. Extra patience and understanding can go a long way towards working out the complications with bad weather. Stormy weather can be responsible for delays in pickup and delivery, as well as the ability to communicate in a timely fashion. Flooding and Power outages can cause road and building problems that continue delays beyond the actual weather emergency. Rescheduling and coordination of multiple vehicles may be required. Cable and Satellite can be interrupted, resulting in problems with cell coverage and ability to access the internet.

Hello guys wink

Just as a reminder, shipping cost depends on car's dimensions. We use plenty of shipping lines and each of them has own categories for cars sizes. This is one more reason not to rely on shipping calculator blindly - it doesn't recognize cars categories.

Once you find the car you would like to buy, don't be shy to confirm the shipping cost with Transportation Department first.
Just send the lot or VIN # and destination port to shipping@auctionexport.com and you will be replied by the end of working day.

As well as you can send all your questions regarding shipping to us, we will help smiley

Ground Transportation process by Truck

Vehicle pick up: The process of vehicle transportation to the warehouse or port will begin as soon as the vehicle and freight are paid for. An Auction Export representative will verify the vehicle and the title/ownership are ready for pick up and a vehicle will be dispatched to the location.

Note: All vehicles are insured during ground transportation and are picked up by a flat bed or tow truck. Auction Export uses qualified drivers approved and licensed by the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Ocean Transportation

Container Shipping: Your vehicle will be delivered to an Auction Export warehouse in NJ, GA, TX, CA or for Canadian shipments Toronto, ON.,Montreal QC., A 40ft container can hold up to 5 vehicles and if you are shipping a full container load the container will be loaded upon vehicles arrival at the warehouse. You will be provided with a container number which you can use to get an updated position of your cargo. If you are shipping a single vehicle then it will be consolidated into a container with other vehicles and loaded as soon as all the vehicles arrive at the warehouse. When the container is loaded it will be transported to the port and loaded onto a vessel the following week.

RORO: Your vehicle will be delivered directly to the exit port in NJ, MD, GA, FL, TX, CA or Halifax Nova Scotia for Canadian shipments. When the vehicle arrives to the port the title/ownership and accompanying documents are submitted to U.S. Customs. Please note, NJ customs are overburdened due to very high volume, and delays are not uncommon. The vehicle will be loaded onto the next vessel with available cargo space.

Nigeria: Most RORO vehicles to Nigeria are shipped with Grimaldi/ACL. Grimaldi has a first come first serve policy and it is not uncommon for a vehicle to miss the first available vessel due to a lineup cars already waiting at the port. Our Nigerian clients prefer the use of Grimaldi due to its unrivalled safety and easy receipt of their vehicle in Lagos where Grimaldi has its own terminal.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I find out the shipping price for the car?

You can use our shipping calculator to get the idea how much the shipping is going to cost. However, the shipping calculator will only give you a rough estimate, because shipping price depends on the size and weight of the vehicle. For exact quote please contact our shipping department at shipping@auctionexport.com.

Is the shipping calculator accurate?

No. The shipping calculator only provides an estimate. Please contact us at shipping@auctionexport.com to get the exact quote.

Can I use my own transportation company?

We suggest to check with our shipping rates first, because many cars have to be consolidated in A container in order to get cheaper rates, and our shipping company can provide consolidation services to many destination points in the world. However, you are free to use your own transportation company, but you will need to send us a copy of the Bill of Lading after the vehicle shipped from USA / Canada.

How do I know how far my car is from the exit port?

We have provided a detailed map of the USA on our shipping page Shipping. This should give you the idea on how much the transportation would be to any major exit port.

Is my vehicle safe while being transported between the states?

Your car is fully insured while being transported between the states; however, if you would like your car to be insured while being transported from Port USA to port in your country, you will have to pay 1.5% from the price of the car for the insurance.
Re: How to Ship your Car from North America to Nigeria! by Export1: 10:01pm On Sep 16, 2016
How can I check the status of my shipment?

We will be notifying you on your status through emails.

How will my cars be shipped?

Your cars will be shipped by “RORO” or “Container” shipping.

What is “RO RO” shipping?

“RORO” means that your car will be driven inside the ship. This method of shipment is available to various destinations and does not involve consolidation. Please refer to this link to find out more information on “RO RO” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roll-on/roll-off

What is “Container” shipping?

“Container” shipping is the most popular way to ship a car. Basically, your car will be loaded inside 20 feet or 40 feet container, and the container will be sealed.

How many cars can be shipped in a 40 feet container?

Usually 40 feet container fits 3 mid size cars or SUVs, or 4 small cars, such as Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla.

What is consolidation?

Consolidation is when you only have one car to ship but you do not want to pay for the whole 40 feet container. Our shipping company will consolidate your car to several of popular destinations. For example, if your car is consolidated with 2 other cars in a 40 feet container, you are ending up paying only 1/3 from the price of 40 feet container. If there is no consolidation to your port, we can ship a car in 20” dedicated container.

Which port is better for consolidation?

The most popular port is New Jersey. However, always check with our shipping department about consolidation to the given country at the time of purchase.

How long does it take to get my car?

Transit time is 45-60 days from time of purchase. But please note delays could occur due to weather conditions, slow traffic, snow bird season, among other situations that could cause delay.

How may I know if Auction Export provides shipping to my country?

You can check shipping calculator on our website to view all available destinations, and contact our Transportation department shipping@auctionexport.com to get more detailed information.

Overall, shipping price is different for every car in particular, depending on the car's location and working condition. This is the reason why the Shipping Calculator feature is provided on every car's page.
Simply select your country and port of destination so the feature gives you estimated prices for the very car you are viewing.
Please keep in mind the shipping process takes two stages - the inland delivery and the ocean shipping. The inland delivery price depends on how far the chosen car is located from the exit port.

Please beware that all vehicles going by RORO must be run and drive and not have extensive damage. Please note certain conditions may apply. In the event these are unable to be shipped by RORO, container consolidation and/or RORO towable may also be available to some destinations.
