Timeline of Computing history by asalimpo(m): 3:00pm On Dec 28, 2014
1837 - The first general computer is designed by Charles Babbage.
Named the analytical engine.

1938 - Konrad Zeus , builds the first programmable computer.

1964- Programma 101. First commercial desktop computer produced. Before then computers were as large as trucks.
Producer was Olivetti corporation,Italy.
The computer was the size of a type writer.


1969 - ARPANET (predecessor to d internet ) was deployed at UCLA,
and major amercan unversties.


1971- Intel produces the first commercial grade microprocessor.

1973- Xerox Alto develops the Gui.

1974- The Altair 8080 computer is introduced, sparking an interest in hobbyist computing.


1981- The first Ibm pc was introduced with the MS-DOS operating system.

I believe that the release of the Apple1 should be included. The only reason IBM started making PCs was because of the success of the Apple1 which they previously believed would flop because they didn't think there was a market for Personal Computers.
Steve Jobs and Wozniak has definitely written their names in the history of computers
