We were once the best on aviation in Africa but everything went down the drain, can we fly our own airline again?

At this point, I think the air transport business should be in the hands of private sector players, and that's what we're getting so far.
Government should have no business running a business enterprise.
Those days have long passed.

You're currently ruled by sentiments and zero common sense.
Government has no business running our air transport sector anymore. From an economic standpoint, it is foolhardy.
Privatization is the key (just like it worked wonders on our telecomms sector), and so far, we've had Aero contractors, Arik and a few others reaping the benefits.

What next? Would you also like Sai Buhari to bring back NITEL?

Getting the Nigeria airways back to work will be a good income earner at this point in time with falling oil prices in mind.
But how many government owned enterprises are run efficiently? Obasanjo tried public-private partnership with virgin Nigeria, I don't know what happened to it.

It is on record that General Buhari purchased new Airbus Jets for Nigeria Airways in 1985. Check item 18 on the list of highlights of his administration.

You guys sell Buhari using lies and nothing but lies. Those planes were ordered and paid for in 1981, they arrived in 1985 when Buhari happened to be in power. It had nothing to do with him.
You think brand new planes are what you can just walk into a showroom and purchase?

Why can't you just express your view instead of referring to me with words like 'zero common sense' I guess a tout will always be a tout! undecided

The single most important factor is good leadership, before any style of management can work. British Airways is a world renowned airline and it's private. Egyptair is the best in Africa and it's 100% state owned, while Singapore Airlines is the best in Asia and is both state and private owned.

Besides, I said GEJ can't 'fix' it and that did NOT mean that I said Nigerian Airways should return as a government owned facility. To successfully privatize a government owned business also needs a capable leadership who will only sell to equally capable hands, which in my opinion cannot be delivered by GEJ. You that are not ruled by sentiment, why do you have a problem with that undecided
