I guess you are still a young boy to believe that PDP will lose election. Look I'm no supporter of GEJ or Buhari, but don't be deceived, PDP is going to win the election either by hook or crook. It's nearly impossible to defeat a sitting president in Nigeria for obvious reason. Don't be deceived by the noises in the social media about APC winning the election, it will not happen. You guys are here making noise why PDP has finalized plans on how to continue in power.
Ok oldie.. I'm not ignorant of the percuilarity of the country and how it operates. But saying because things have always been bad we shouldn't attempt to fix it shows just how supposedly mature you are.. We are "resilient" and "optimistic" but also realists and one thing we do know is ultimately power belongs to the people. No matter what the outcome of the feb. 14th election is, right now we'll do all it takes.. We'll make the noise and take definitive action towards voting cluelessness out.

RIP to the prof.

I really don't want to sound insensitive or smth. But when the medical doctors were on strike and people were dying, they did make insensitive statements. Like 'doctors are the only important members of the health team' 'if johesu goes on strike, they won't be missed because doctors are on ground' 'they know a little of lab tech, nursing, pharmacy' bla bla bla.

Foolish set of Homo sapiens, why couldn't you save what was left of our only neuropathologist? I thought you were 'demigods' and have mystical powers to save lives? Why blame his death on JOHESU now? The joke is on you and the GEJ led FG that has no value for human lives.

The moment we begin to understand that healthcare is collaborative like it is in saner climes, is the moment we'll begin to treat each health profession on its own. Prof's death(tho sad) is a reminder to that effect. Don't quote me pls!

And let me ask you, which other group of health professionals would have saved the prof if present? Is it d nurses? In this kind of emergency, nurses skills are often irrelevant. They are only needed after patients have been stabilized.
Did your people not lock up all the important equipments when they went on strike? Despite all that, patients are still being managed on outpatient basis, and a few being admitted. That is going on, notwithstanding that over 90% of the work force are not on ground.
We all agree everybody is important. The issue only arises when you want a radiographer for example, to be equal to a radiologist or an optometrist to be equal to an ophthalmologist or even a nursing officer becoming equal to a medical officer. That can never happen.

''We'', ''we'', who is the we you keep referring in your comment? Can't just speak for yourself or are you now speaking on behalf of everybody? Can you even wait to defend your vote (even if it means losing your life) when the riggers come? Just stop making noise here and face the reality!

These medics are wickedly evil.........Did him in they way they treat the rest of us.....and they come hear crying trying to whip up our sympathies....The sick troubled but now deceased Prof.....called in.....was assured that he could come over as a team would be waiting to take charge of his situation upon his arrival........He did not meet the team promised by his deceitful colleagues.....rather he was referred to one of their private clinics to be attended to for gain.....whilst there were the prerequisite facilities and manpower to attend to him at the UCH from the community of medical doctors at the hospital......
If only they were prepared to be their brothers keeper by living out the tenets of that oath of theirs...applied and observed more in breach.....

The NMA can manage hospitals alone. Let Johesu not lock their places up. Let them just go home without packing methylated spirit and cotton wool and see if doctors won't do the job even better.
What you said just now shows your level of intelligence. Your reasoning level is next to nothing. If indeed NMA can manage the hospital alone, he wouldn't have been referred to a private hospital. Are you that stupid to believe cotton wool and methylated spirit is what is needed to run an hospital? SMH

Actually, his colleagues could not work because the vital equipment that would have saved him was locked up by JOHESU.

The labs too were locked up by JOHESU.

The wards were locked by JOHESU.

So, don't blame the doctors here.

If you must blame someone....blame govt for failing to increase spending for health care....and spending for healthcare training. Simples. This blame game will get us no where.

Same way same manner they killed my brother 20 Dec 2014. He also stayed 2hrs in holdup before getting to the private hospital. I thought medical professionals are trained to save life?

But it is part of the medical ethics.
All health professionals must give emergency treatments no matter what, even during industrial actions. . I would sue that doctor that turned him back and the whole UCH if I were a member of his family.

RIp Prof...

Health Sector shut down for 2months and some ignorants be like. GEJ till 2019 in jail sad sad

I am surprised that they still think it is a tribal, religious, political or geographical issue. No it is not. GEJ needs to goooo.

You will never understand the concept of collaboration if you keep talking trash like this.. See your life now, go back to the front page and see wah Alonge complained about, emergency! Guess what? Nurses, paramedics and even pharmacists are important tools in emergency together with the doctors. RIP to the prof.

See ehn, healthcare is like football! Every member of team is as important as the other.

Nobody is arguing the importance of other health professionals. Doctors alone can't do all the work, even if they have the knowledge.
That every member of the Nigerian security force is important doesn't mean they should all be accorded the same status. It doesn't make sense. Our police is very important to us, but they can never be same as the army.
The pharmacy technician working with you is very important in your work, but will they be accorded the same status with you?
Medicine can never be placed on the same scale with med lab or radiography or optometry etc. It's not like that in other countries. Why should it be so in Nigeria?

And you might strike the cord well to tell which of the health professions want the same accord with medical doctors. Do you even know the root of the JOHESU strike?

That CMD position should be left opened to any health profession is a crime? More so, doctors still the head of clinical decisions.

An upgrade of CONHESS is a crime? While maintaining the relativity that has always been? Preach to me pls!

I thought the doctors are pacesetters in strike actions. Painful though, we should be mindful of the seed we sow cos what goes around comes around.

He probably fell for that "stay back and develop your fatherland" crap.

The same fatherland has nonchalantly wasted his life.

Nigeria is a home to 5150s.

U dont need to be insultive. I used those as examples because a poster above mentioned the packing of methylated spirit at anbhospital.

Things like this will continue to happen because of so many reasons:

- Many people wont agree that there are better and more reliable alternatives to their health issues.

-All dont have to be resolve in a teaching hospital!

-Simple supplements used for a good length of time would have saved that prof., but you know; until you experience something it is hard to believe. Check here for proofs.
