Someone told me he went to Alausa to inquire about how LAGOS state monthly allocation and tax payers money is being spent on various projects on LAGOS. The man said the treatment he got was a shocker and he was asked to get lost before something happens to him.

FOI works well at the federal level. Mr. Falana had recently requested details of our nations financial dealings from the finance minister.

My question is this, why can't FOI work in Lagos? Why is it that NIGERIANS paying Tax in Lagos and Lagosians can not ask for information regarding how Lagos spends the billions generated in Lagos including the monthly allocation.

How much does Lagos generate yearly?
How is the money spent?
What projects are executed, where are they executed and at what cost?
Who are the contractors? How are they paid?
How many people does Lagos employ, and how are their salaries paid?
Etc.....

Lots of question begging for answers.

Did you read the FOI Act at all? If you have not, I advice you do. If you have, did you follow the provisions cum prescriptions on how to obtain the requested info?
