You can tell by the people waiting in the wings preparing to contest for 2011 presidential election, Atiku, Buhari, IBB, is liken Dick Cheney, Bob Dole, Al Gore all preparing them selves for the 2012 US Presidential election, our leaders have no shame. If a house of reps member from Benue state in the last dispenstaion is now a councillor in a local govt where is the shame. undecided

I have thought long and hard for many years about the problem of Nigeria and came to the conclusion that most of the problems people believe are not really the real problems but offshoots of the fundamental problem. I have written a thesis:

Enduring structures have always been built on dependable supports and foundations. No one ever bult a castle on the air, no matter the height of his advanced technology, it would crumble.
Our state, Nigeria is an example of a huge castle standing so far on nothing but the will of a few benefitting from her wealth.
The sooner our people realise, there is no building without supporting structure or foundations and pillars, the better for the majority of Nigerians.
Intangible concepts like states (Nigeria) are founded upon structures known as principles. Principles require a sound belief in and a diligent application of by all to succeed.
Accounts will never balance if double entry principle is never applied or followed, so it is with any other concept or entity, it requires some sound principles.
The United States are founded on a very simple yet solid structure and foundation that continues to inspire men worldwide:
"We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal and that they are bestowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that amongst these are: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And that to protect these rights governments are instituted amongst men with the consent of the governed."
All enduring states have been founded upon similar support structures or values. Unfortunately ours have none.
Our founding fathers were in a hurry to obtain "control" which they mistook for independence and they obtained control of the country to no end. That control of resources and people is still in the hands of a few and not Nigerians (we are no free people).
When something goes wrong, those with the ability to act, have the responsibility to act. Our acting now is to with one voice tell our captors "NOT AGAIN"
Our anthem or the national anthem forsaw this when it asked us to arise to the call of our fatherland, to build it (serve) and we cannot build in on nothing but on principles we all must believe in like Americans believe in their declaration of independence. We must build our fatherland on equality of all, justice for all, freedom and liberty for all and protecting these rights through our collective will expressed though the ballot.

Until we get the above done, we will continue to be a country going in circles , recycling politicians who have nothing to do but please their patrons.

My uncle told me that when he was a kid in the seventies Obasanjo was ruling and he (Obasanjo) came to his school and told him then that they're the leaders of tomorrow and now forward 30years ahead and the same Obasanjo is still ruling Nigeria (both directly and indirectly).

His conclusion : When would the tomorrow ever come?

Nigeria is definitely going in circle, Deja Vu.

If moving forward is becoming challenging, maybe retracing one step might be a wise decision.

why wont nigeria go in circles when we nigerians collectively have not done anything different??
if you add 5 plus 5 it ll always give you 10 unless you do something different like multiplying it, what have we as nigerians done differently since the 1970s in spite of these politicians raping us and our economy, yet we expect them to suddenly see the light, repent and be born again and stop stealing millions, no country in the world got change simply by wishing for it

If you say Nigeria is going in circle it means it is rotating from good - better-best -bad- worse -worst-good. But that is not the case Nigerai is going from best-good-bad worse!!!- worst- wors-wor-wo-wo-wo-w!! The best days of Nigerian still remains when 1naira was equal to 1dollar.Those days that people go to abroad jst to study and come back home to work.Oh God!! we are jst leaving on its history.
