A young Muslim lady is facing thorough bashing by other Muslims for openly supporting President Goodluck Jonathan. The lady in question respond to a Premium Times post shared on Facebook where she uploaded a picture of a ballot paper with a thumb printed in the box beside the PDP umbrella logo.

Aside uploading the picture as comment, she wrote sai GEJ Insha Allah. The use of the phrase commonly associated with Islam to refer to “God will” spark a ethnic a religious bashing from other Muslim users who felt disappointed at her endorsement of GEJ as her candidate.

With this, there is an increase disparity in the manner at which electorates choice of candidates are polarized along ethnic and religious sentiment.

A simple survey on social network shows that over 90% of people endorsing Buhari are muslims and same with Goodluck Jonathan

Yestaday, i saw a facebook statues as regarding this election on a friends page.
I felt disguested and was utterly disappointed seeing this coming from an educated fellow.
When will Nigeria Grow up, I have christian friends who support GMB and some christians see it as a sacriledge of some sort and i also have muslim friends who supports GEJ, some muslims take it as a disgrace and sacriledge to their fold.
