would really help to know your phone type. If its MTK then the video tutorial below should help. if not, Ubuntu +stock recovery.img+stock boot.img = CWM recovery

ROM manager wont work here unless you have a prebuilt image (which should be a last restor)

if you must try this cwm recovery image, make sure it was created for your exact model and that you backup your stock recovery before flashing it
