You may consider it a joke but when the Niger delta militants reduced the oil Production of Nigeria to near nothing, nobody needed to tell Yaradua to offer them an amnesty deal, and this was after he threw the Nigerian military might against them to no avail. Oil production doesnt go on in a situation of war. Buhari will not be able to fight the Niger-Delta militants without destrying the entire Gas and oil industry in the region. this is not like bombing Boko Haram from the sky, Bombing the niger-delta is like throwing matches on gasoline, everywhere will be on fire. Sending in troops that dont know the creeks is a waste of time. The election of Buhari is the end of Nigeria. How Buhari can actually fight Boko Haram and the Niger Delta militamts at the same time is a joke. And all this while oil money is no longer coming in. Reality is reality, No GEJ,no Oil and no Nigeria.
Not to talk of indictment over war crimes that will hang over the head of the Jihadist and his followers, just as is hanging over the a President of Sudan.

I wonder why all the solid minerals up north are un-tampered uptil now, some northern state governors do explore them, use them for their personal gains, are these geographical regions not also nigeria? Are those mineral given to us by another supreme being that is not GOD? I support neither GEJ or GMB, all I stand for is equal right and justice, all I stand for is peace, all I stand for is change, and APC can't give nigerians that because they are the same people that formed PDP, they are in APC because the powerful ones amongst them were able to sideline most of them, simple. Besides, naijadelta should just shut the hell up, soon, a litre of water will be more valuable than that of crude oil. My 2cents. Our opinions might differ.

Chai chai chai, seriously to fight war no be beans oooh,nd to fund am na wahala considering the fact that @least for the past 20yrs our country is being funded and ran by nothing else but money generated from the sale of oil,(both recurrent and capital expenditures). Have u for once asked urself were the funding of the military personnels and purchase of the arms that will be used to fight the niger-deltans will come from if the MEND will be able to shut down completely the outflow of oil from their region? Don't tell me that u will send ur soldiers to the war front on empty stomach, don't tell me u will send them to war un-equiped. U and I know for sure that soo many dubious nations in the world will willingly supply the MEND with arms in exchange for oil, don't think of blocking the boarders to allow inflow of arms, they also own their own boarders. PlllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaAasssSssssssseeeeeeeee ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am begging u all, make sure GEJ wins so that we won't experience another war oooh, those who never go war before think say na all these things them de see for movies.

people please take a cursory look at this
analysis.
* I have never seen any school built in his name. *
I have never seen any borehole constructed by
him. * There is no record of any scholarship
awarded by him or for him nor through him.
* I have never seen him use his popularity to
canvass for any charitable work nor any
humanitarian effort, not even at the height of the
polio scourge where other purposeful and
prominent leaders lead the campaign for
immunization.
* No single text book has been donated to any
school either by him, for him or through him.
* Asides from doing nothing, he has not
improved himself since his exit from office.
* No book written, no memoirs, no lectures,
nothing.
* The only thing of note he can point to are his
numerous interviews on the BBC Hausa station.
* He never champion for a university in his state
nor has he ever been involved in any kind of
programme to better the lives of the Almajiris in
Daura. * His entire existence has not lead to any
meaningful development in Daura, yet they say he
can change Nigeria.
Doesn't charity begin at home again?
* No wonder he was referred to as being
''perpetually unelectable''. * He is not a patron to
any organization, group or association.
* No professional body in Nigeria has ever invited
him for their lecture, convention or gala night. *
The only time any known form, body or human
assemblage ever chose him to do anything for
them was when the Boko Haram terrorist sect
nominated him as their spoke person in the
proposed talks with the Fed. Govt.
Is there any wonder why he says the BH scourge
will end if he is elected''?
The choice is yours......vote PDP

hedonistic:
If the nomads up north and their South Western underlings are using this artificial 'insecurity' created by them to blackmail and bully Jonathan out of office, then one definitely understands the position of the Niger Delta militant commanders.

This whole or. g.y of terrorism and violence in the North has been systematically used to discredit Jonathan's government. In many ways, the election wouldn't be a fair contest if many voters who ordinarily should be swayed by Jonathan achievements in diverse sectors are manipulated to vote for Buhari in the name of insecurity and Boko Haram. That will be difficult to accept.

If that's the case, then the militants would also need to reciprocate the 'gesture' ten-fold in the unlikely event that the North succeeds in installing their jihadist son as president. I guess that's the issue here.

Dont talk nonsense. The Ijaws and the people of the south-south have owned the Oil and Gas resources on their waters and lands long before that British drunkard called 'Lord Lugard' came from nowhere to beat-up,flog,shoot and force your ancestors into charade known as 'Nigeria'. Im not even from the south-south, Im an Anambra man but that doesnt stop from seeing injustice when it is happening. If Nigeria was a limited company, the South-South people would be largest shareholders because it is the proceeds from their lands that pays for Nigeria to even exist. Non of the the people shouting Sai Buhari! add any value or contribute anything to the south-south,rather,its the other way round. The contest between Buhari and GEJ is no longer about who occupies Aso Rock. It has now become about if Nigeria divides or not. The Yoruba/Hausa alliance and APC supporters had better start thinking about a separate country where they can elect their 'saviour' Buhari to be their president because it is not possible that Buhari can be president in a country that the SE/SS are part of. If Buhari is elected, the Niger delta militants will shut down the oil production of Nigeria which will bring military conflict and you all can bet that us Igbos will not sit around and watch the destruction of our brethren in the south-south. The election of Buhari is the end of Nigeria. We are at a cross road in 2015 and the son of the south-south has to remain president as a minimum requirement for the continued existence of Nigeria or else APC will have to show me the document where I as an Igbo man and the people of the south-south signed with Lugard to give up our 'sovereignty' to become Nigerians.

There won't be war if GEJ is not re-elected, rather there may be armed struggle/guerrilla warfare which will bring down the new government in three months. When there is no longer money to share, their will be mass protests over unpaid salaries, job losses etc, to the extent that a revolution will take palace. This revolution will amonsgt other things, give rise to am emergency restructuring of Nigeria along the lines of fiscal federalism, this will permanently put an end to the born to rule mentality of the Hausa/Fulani. In the end, GEJ losing the elections may actually be a blessing in disguise, but every right thinking person knows that GEJ will win the elections overwhelmingly. GEJ till 2019.

If War happens, the militants will lose, if you blow up oil installations and the govt of GMB stops food supplies to ND how will you fight or will you fight on empty stomach.Besides this is not abt Jonathan coming from a minority tribe, the whole Nigeria voted for him in 2011 now if that same masses say they won't vote for him wat now makes its bcoz he is from Niger Delta they want him out of office. This threat from the militants is a threat to democracy, besides the best way to leave Nigeria is through a peaceful accord or else Niger Delta pple will suffer u can't farm on your land ow do u survive if war comes since u ve blown up all the oil installations. The rest of Nigeria can still survive on Agriculture even if they won't b rich as before how do you survive with blown up oil rigs and installations u won't be able to sell d oil.

So you are saying peradventure the south south blows up oil wells and ground production so they north will not bring any resourses to the table. Now its a lie as the revenue sharing will continue from the northern hard farms and the southern states will also get their share there.

On a second point I think the best step the south south can take to defeat Nigeria is to blow up oil flow to other parts of Nigeria. Remember war lasts years and it needs oil gas and kerosene to poker the war machines vehicles planes and cars. So how will the north fight exactly

The Ex-Military presidents are in cohort to stop GEJ.
First it was obasanjo who came out smoking and discrediting Jonathan.
Even, when they do not agree, he has been able to win over IBB who has publicly endorsed GMB.
Lastly, General Abdulsalam fired the last servo asking for change of government.

GEJ should not go down without fighting.
And all he needs to do is to give a good account of himself in the fight.

Fear him that is able to kill the body and the soul only.

Implement the following and do it quickly. The presidential king move.
Firstly, Declare a state of Emergency in Nigeria.
Then implement in steps:

1. Withdraw all oil block allocation allocated to all Ex-Military and Northern cronies.
Investigate the situation surrounding the allocation, prosecute those who got what and how they got it.
Plus if found wanting confisticate the asset obtained with the proceeds and other
2. If they make any noise, constitute a high powered committee to investigate the bidding process for the OML/OPL award.
If he finds anything wrong they should be forwarded to the court for prosecution expeditiously, whilst confiscating all the assets and investment of the comapny.
3. Strengthen INEC to use only the PVC with Biometric configuration to ensure votes count and represent only the wish of the people. Any where they is substantial falsification empower INEC to cancel the whole party's vote in that state.
4. Places with Insurgency, cancel voting sighting security of citizens, staff and properties for this.
5. Declare the result according to INEC tally no matter if He looses.
6. Revert Nigeria's governance structure to regional basis.
7. Ensure that all regions control 100% of its resources.
8. If you win, retire from captain upwards all the present armed forces personnel and get to employ new ones with similar training like the armies had in the 60s. Pay the Nepalese and get skilled armed personnel(Budhist leaning) to prosecute the boko Haram war.

After peace is normalized, the first batch of the new armed force will be ready for the nation's defence and rightly composed.
10. Ensure that quota is respected in the composition of armed senior level personnel based on merit and qualification.
11. If you win, sack all these wannabes in your administration and rule using simply sound technocrats implementing what is good for the country and her people.

I think the president should call Fr Mbaka to order. He will not get that
gratification he wants from the Presidency. No good
reasoning southerner will support the fanatic maggot
called Buhari that hates Christianity with passion.
The northerners wants to return power to the north and
engineered the alimajiris to cause problems as Boko
Haram. GEJ used every possible means to stop their
rascality but as it not for similar reasons that the
Northerner
elites vowed to drag Ihejirika to the ICC? Is that not the
reason
why he was removed after much pressure from the North?
Was that not why the North demanded amnesty for Boko
Haram? Is that not why Buhari declared that an attack on
Boko Haram was an attack on the North? All those time
buying strategies by the Northerner elites allow BH
regroup
and return to war. The very same Buhari that was named
as a
negotiator for BH in the amnesty talks refused to
participate.
The same Nothern elites who called for an end to the state
of
emergency in the North East and withdrawal of troops
cannot
tell us what they plan to replace the troops with. The same
people who would not participate in amnesty talks to end
BH
are now using BH atrocities as their primary campaign
tools.
Even my 18 month old baby will realize they are obviously
the
ones behind it all. Why you an adult does not, or would not
realize this remains astonishing.

Let me use this opportunity to make it clear to everyone following this thread that the Ijaw Nation is not threatening "war" against anyone in the literal sense although we would be more than ready for anyone who come to our land to fight us when we reclaim our land and resources. It doesn't matter the time, whether 2015 or 2019, when Jonathan leaves, oil stops. So you see we ain't forcing of anyone to vote Jonathan,we're only presenting two dates before the fvcking country; 2015 or 2019? choose carefully.

I will attempt a response to you because you stated you are no fan of either parties.

There are lots of children on nairaland. I have read comments saying they should take their oil yet never said how the country will survive without the oil.

The truth is, we are stuck with the ND oil for the near and medium term as a country and we can only get out of it if the policies of GEJ on diversification are aggressively followed for the next 6 years.

When the militants say war, reason appropriately. They will only set the oil facilities in their backyard on fire and this does not take more than 20mins. But the resultant effect of that 20mins activity is massive. Oil and gas facilities are not fixed like cars in few days, it takes months and years.

No oil operator will keep running an oil production facillity in a chaotic region. Even if you mobilize the entire army to the creeks, the oil majors will not be in a haste to send the workers back in there. This was the case just few years back.

In between, our revenue is lost. No allocation to states, no salaries (remember 75% of employed nigerians are employed by the govt), no projects, zero investor confidence, no gas to run electricity power plants, anarchy, chaos will be the order of the day.

Am not sure most Nigerians have thought this through before commenting. The few who have are looking at relocating their loved ones after the election.

The militants did it before and Obj and his army could do very little with violence. Yaradua was smart with negotitions and amnesty. Before Buhari is done dealing with the menace, 4yrs will be gone with so much pain. So the kids proposing force and violence for such delicate issue are just the kids they are.

This guy was right
