Role: Fashion Journalist/Researcher
We are a soon to launch fashion publishing company that will operate from Lagos.
We will be publishing research led views that relates to fashion development in Nigeria and Africa.
We are looking for a young, creative and dynamic fashion journalist who is based in Lagos to work for our company on a freelance basis.
We want a self-driven, ambitious and forward looking individual who has good understanding of journalism and fashion.
Your Role:
• Conduct investigations related to the fashion and apparel industry in Nigeria/Africa
• Interview key individuals within the industry such as policy makers, founders, designers, retailers, merchandisers, and consumers.
• Review fashion policies, issues, weeks, etc.
• Organise and conduct primary research through questionnaires/interviews/observation
• Write interesting reports, articles, findings to be published on our website and soon to launch international magazine
You:
• You must possess a minimum in any of the following: BA in Journalism, Fashion, Mass Communication, Philosophy or related subject.
• You will work with the Chief Editor on stories and topic of focus
• You will be based in Lagos but flexible and available to travel to other states to cover stories
• You must have proven ability to network and build relationships
• Effective communication skills (Clean and unquestionable writing skills).
• You must possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in journalism or the fashion industry
• Role will be freelance first 3 months but you must be available anytime within this period
• You must have knowledge of primary research and knack to knock on doors

Remuneration
• Remuneration would be based on how many stories you can create in a month. However, there is minimum payment for each story.
• A fixed remuneration and permanent employment would be negotiated after three of freelance and probation.
• You will have the opportunity to build your name in Journalism and fashion
• Meet key industry players and contribute to the fast growing industry
