Yeah here she goes, 3 year plus and still counting. No issues no worries, just change the bushings and the links recently. Currently approaching 70,000 klm .

When i first read about the theta ii engine 2.0t i shock wella. Later i started envying the engine, while looking for any optima or Sonata with the 2.0t badge on the boot.

Some people are obviously easily impressed. It's not about horsepower numbers, it's about putting those numbers to the pavement, and Kia has failed.

A 275 hp car that gets to 60 in 6.1 seconds

Or

A 240 hp car that gets to 60 in 5.5 seconds

Kia should stop lying. Or find better ways to transfer power to the pavement.

Hi folks, my 2010 Cerato is giving me headache. I hear a knocking sound when u turn the steering left and right. Mechanics here have suggested that it poses no danger bu the sound is uncomfortable and most obvious when I drive over a pot-hole or a bump. It seems to be a common problem with Kia from my online researches.Had anyone experienced this or has solutions to it?

Nope. It's not stabiliser links, bro. The noise comes from the neck of the steering. Let me post a similar case posted by another victim

Hi Bisalla. I own a 2013 Kia Rio. Can you please tell me where you bought your Sway bar links and Bushing from. Don't know any reliable KIA parts sellers in Lagos and the pricing in Dana motors is crazy. Thank you

Why don't you take it to their accredited dealership. Leave roadside mechanics. Might be the steering column. Might have to replace it for about 150k for a.second. hand own.

Why am I just seeing this thread lol. Kia Rio 2010 1.4l, just 4,000+ on the clock cos I only started using it last year. I turn the key, it answers. No problems. Had to change the clutch kit and fuel pump last year because it had sat in the house unused for close to four years but that's it.

Surprisingly punchy too. I leave so many BMW and Benz drivers behind on 3MB every Saturday I'm sure they'll be scratching their heads grin grin grin

Welcome, how's ur radio? You actually didn't have to replace your clutch kit, when I bought mine I had same problem cause it was parked for 2years, I notice the piston inside the upper and lower clutches expanded shocked a little sandpapering and clutch has been working fine for almost a year now.

My radio is still AWOL angry Apparently I have to either take it to Dana or to Ladipo because replacing a damaged internal power line is a specialist job. Now I have no time to get to Ladipo because of my job and Dana quoted me something north of N25,000 so that's that for now. I either drive in silence or I use headphones sad

As per the clutch kit, I bought a new one altogether because I was terrified of fiddling with the car because I'd heard all manner of things about Korean cars so I didn't trust it lol. After 6 months of everyday use, I can see that all that noise was probably sponsored yikyak by rival brands or tokunbo importers. It handles like a race car, responds fast (too fast even), has excellent fuel economy and is low maintenance. Perfect car for a young working man. Even my girl loves it wink cheesy

Have your radiator fan been changed, is it connected directly?
Is your engine idling smoothly? Check the sparkplugs too. Such vibrations could arise from those afore mentioned parts.

Is your car brand new?

If yes, is it up to a year, if no, is it in warranty? then it leaves me imagining how kia/dana group would be ill treating their esteemed kia owners.

It's brand new but it's been parked since 2010 because I was away. I only started using it last September. I doubt the warranty still holds because apart from the time involved, the power line got damaged by my sister who switched the battery terminals (-ve into +ve and +ve into -ve). Don't think warranty covers that kind of damage.
