After the brutal execution by fire of a Jordanian pilot captured by Islamic State (also known as ISIS or ISIL), rumours have been circulating on social media that King Abdullah II of Jordan had personally led air attacks against the Islamist militia.

These were coupled with a photo (right) of the king in military fatigues. Lots of people initially doubted its authenticity, but it seems to be legitimate.

It was actually posted on the official Facebook page of the The Royal Hashemite Court (Jordan's monarchy), pretty much guaranteeing its authenticity.

The image caption simply said: "His Majesty King Abdullah II, The Supreme Commander of Jordanian Armed Forces, cuts his visit to the United States of America after the martyrdom of Muath Al Kasasbeh."

It's not clear that Abdullah was actually physically involved in attacks on ISIS, but it's not beyond belief: According to a 2013 interview, he's a keen helicopter pilot. After an early education at the UK's Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, he went on to command Jordan's special forces.

wink What King Abdullah II of Jordan can do, Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria can do better! Only he doesn't like to show off. He's very modest... honestly. God bless Nigeria.

Although this news piece cannot be readily confirmed but if true, most Nigerian leaders especially the president should not be mentioned in the same sentence with this king.

This is why we need this fisherman out. He is a complete mismatch for leadership at any level. Danjuma told him he had to lead the fight against Boko Haram and the irony was lost on the clueless man. A leader leads from the front not from behind the bottoms of five fat women.

King Abdullah of Jordan has always been a trained military man, having had his early training at Sandhurst. It inappropriate to compare him with Jonathan who has been a civilian all his life.

And why has Obama not gallantly suited up, carried gun and led any offensive?

The opportunistic paparazzi media stunt of King Abdullah (at a sensitive moment like this to become an untested hero) has suddenly become a yardstick to judge others? Pathetic at very least.
