Reports coming from Kaduna, indicates that the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in the state Nasir El- Rufai was this morning attacked by Nigerian soldiers. According to tweets from public relations consultant Muyiwa Adekeye attack happened at Ali Akilu Road/ Rabah Road junction. Soldiers this morning attacked @elrufai at the junction of Ahmadu Bello Way & Rabah Road in Kaduna, seizing a gun from his police guards. — Muyiwa Adekeye (@MuyiwaAdekeye) February 6, 2015 Adekeye said further: “Senior army officers intervened and defused the situation. “The incident was witnessed by a crowd who are now following El- Rufai as he makes his way to Kawo. “The seized police gun was returned to the ASP leading the police team.” “ Totally undue flexing of muscles by soldiers this morning. Kudos to the people of Kaduna who surrounded and accompanied El-Rufai up to Kawo,” he added. I feel this incident should not have been reported, because from the report a senior army officer came to bring the situation under control.
