Nolluwood simply put is Nigeria's film industry. It has become the butt of joke among many Nigerians because of the poorly researched scripts, incongruent continuity, poor character interpretation, etc. Now let us delve into the two lessons that Nollywood can learn from Michael joseph Jackson, an enigmatic entertainer. First is;
STRIVING FOR THE BESt: There is so much complacency in Nollywood but MJ was never a bit complacent. Despte the commercial success of his OFF THE WALL album, e felt he could have made a much bigger impact and was determined to exceed expectation with his next release (thriller) and this made him secure the highest royalty- 37 per cent- in music industry..No mean feat for a young black male barely out of his teens. Thriller defined music videos and broke racial barriers on MTV. -n 2009, the Library of congress selected Thriller video for inclusion in National Film Registry. *4 of 2009, the only music video to be so inducted. Nollywood should wake up from it slumber of complacency and learn how one young black american male revolutionalized American Music industry by not settling for less
