was in tinapa a year ago ...but was disappointed. So dead in spite of all the hype and money spent. Was even reliably informed that the Cross river state government still has to service the loans used to put up the project. So unfortunate. Woulda loved to visit that gashaka-gumti park if not for security concerns. Its sad what boko haram has turned the north into. I tell you, its one beautiful region especially the adamawa-taraba stretch which i've plied on one or two occassions: the adamawa mountains and the mambilla-plateau mountains: beautiful! Arghh and enugu ..04 nwanne. From and grew up there .been to awhum and pine-forest though that was many years back. Awhum's sure got breathtaking scenes/views especially from the peak of the mountain and pine-forest? *nostalgia* won't ever forget those bash (party) times in the early 00's when man still dey learn ropes for high school. Nigeria is beautiful ...just that the government of the day (just like past successive governments) aint interested in the immense tourism potentials on ground and as such has consistently failed to facilitate an enabling environment for tourism to thrive. Vraiment, c'est dommage!

Tis true. But does this particular shortcoming fall squarely on the shoulders of the government? Can't other ruling classes endeavour to provide funds to rescue Nigeria's tourism sector?

After all, Marx believed the state was a tool in the hands of the ruling class, namely the exploitive elite... N'est-ce pas? wink

You have a point ...but i'm afraid no investor (predominantly your bourgeoisie/neo-burgeoise) -local or foreign would be willing to put money into a sector where in spite of huge potential, the government of the day cannot guarantee an enabling environment at the very BASIC level à la security, reasonable road network and relevant infrastructure among others. I believe if the basics are taken care of, loads of tour-operators /investors will flood the sector (c'est pourquoi je te dis que le gouvernement n'est pas interresé ..parce que sa responsibilité ici c'est plus important) ..who wan throway money ontop tour operating company when most of these tour sites dey for 'uncertain' remote zones?

And marx? lol actually he was refering to the 'hypocritical' capitalist economic system and not necessarily the state ...anyways you seem to have an idea and thats great. Did you/do you read up marx? Most folks esp women I've come across either aren't interested one bit or totally find him boring lol but great guy I must say ..gee foresaw our today and has largely been spot-on thus far I would reckon

Dubai is better
Unfortunately, if you are not up to 40years (even if you are married) you can't get a visa to Dubai except you are accompanied by an 'Adult'.
So, forget Dubai.
