Gerrard, who is out for two to three weeks
with a hamstring problem.
Midfielder Lucas Leiva is out for twice that
period with a thigh injury, Jordon Ibe is cup-
tied and Raheem Sterling's foot injury will be
assessed.
Defender Pape Souare could make his Crystal
Palace debut, but Yaya Sanogo and James
McArthur are struggling to recover from injury.
Captain Mile Jedinak remains unavailable
with an ankle problem.
Palace held Liverpool to a 3-3 draw at
Selhurst Park last season, a result that
severely damaged the Anfield club's title
hopes.
"We take confidence from our recent record,
without a doubt," Palace assistant manager
Keith Millen said.
"I'm sure they feel they're in for a real tough
one again and we need to make sure we don't
disappoint them."
Forward Sterling missed Liverpool's 3-2
Premier League home win over Tottenham on
Tuesday but assistant manager Colin Pascoe
is hopeful the 20-year-old will be fit for the
weekend.
"We are monitoring Raheem," he said. "He
missed a game the other night but we will see
how he is."
Palace have only won six of their last
29 matches in the FA Cup against top
flight opposition (W6 D11 L12).
There have been 14 goals, evenly split,
in the last three meetings between
Palace and Liverpool.
The Eagles and the Reds have met four
times in the FA Cup, with three of the
ties going to replays after a 0-0 draw in
the first match. The meeting that didn't
go to a replay was the 1990 semi-final
which went to extra-time before Palace
won 4-3.
Daniel Sturridge has scored nine goals
in his last 11 FA Cup starts.
Liverpool have kept only three clean
sheets in their last 19 FA Cup games.
