are their any mandatory day to observe nafilah at midnight or one can observe it at anyday. and is it only monday and thursday one can observe fasting? .pls my muslim brothers and sisters should enlighten me, course am a novice and i want to learn more, may ALLAH be with us all. thanks

Assalamalaikum..

Kiyamul lail aka Night prayers is very much encouraged and it has no fix dates or day.All you simply have to do is to program your alarm clock to wake u up either in the first quarter of the night which is from 12am to 2am or second quarter which is from 2am to 4am.At this times,Allah has promised to answer the call of any of his creation who is opportune to pray to him at these time of the night.its blessings cannot be expressed,but only you will understand and feel highly elated when you start.( Allah knows best).The night prayer that is much talked about is that performed on thursday night.it has alot of blessings.make sure you never miss it plz,possibly all through your life.

As for voluntary fasting..it is very much recommended and comes with tremendous benefits both health and spiritual wise.All deeds are finally taken to Allah on thursdays according to a hadith,and that accounts for the facts why the faithful fast on Mondays and Thursdays.(Allah knows best)

Note : in all this acts of worship your state of mind must be clean ie your intentions should be strictly doing such limb of worship solely for the sake of Allah and not for anybody to compliment you or for u to prove to the world you are a faithful..that way u will reap all the benefits and blessings innate with such acts of worships and even some which Allah has kept within his own knowledge.
