It is because they have no genuine friends and allies anywhere. The West is openly supporting APC and the dismissal of GEJ from Aso Rock. Obama is not even hiding his support of the APC. He has turned campaign manager of the APC with his attacks on GEJ the latest being the announcement that "President Jonathan runs an ineffective government". The efforts of the PDP can be seen as the final wild actions of a dying political dynasty. As history as shown us, things end in tears for those who fail to see the writing on the wall.

Not only Obama.
Very few world leaders respect Jonathan. He lost everybody with Chinok girls, corruption and Boko Haram slitting throats in the north east without doing anything. The world also took notice of Nigerian Army running away from Boko Haram. Respect is as important as love on the world stage.
