The Director of Media and Publicity for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Organisation, Garba Shehu has come out, not to defend that the doctored pictures of the APC presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, which was made to pass of as interviews done in the UK, but to say that the issues of the pictures was not important.

Shehu had on Saturday, February 21, 2015 posted pictures online showing General Buhari with former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair and another with US-based TV host, Kemi Fadojutimi, which have since been rubbished as fake.

Guardian newspaper, had on Sunday, February 22, 2015 used the photos as its cover, but issued a statement on Monday, February 23, 2015, apologizing for the mix up, with an editor of the paper, Tope Temler Olaiya saying on Twitter that Mr. Shehu should be blamed. She said: “blame Garba Shehu’s sloppiness who sent out the picture with accompanying press statement.”

In a bid to get his reaction over the matter, The Scoop contacted Shehu asking him to clarify  the issue of the misleading picture, but he tried to dodge the matter by saying:  “We’re not dwelling on that issue. We want to use all our time to see how discussions can be advanced on the issues of insecurity, corruption, mismanagement and unemployment.”

When quizzed further as to if he felt the controversy would rub off negatively on General Buhari’s ambition. Shehu said the issue was irrelevant.

He said: “The voter has a decision to make, whether the issue of photograph is more important to him than the issue of large scale insecurity. The media and the voter have a choice to make.”

This kinds of threads aren't supposed to be allowed. imagine the misleading title. where is it explicitly stated that the spokesman admitted that the pictures were fake? stop spreading useless propaganda.

Rather than clear the air on whether or not the Blair picture was fake, this dude was busy beating about the bush. Is this an admittance of guilt?
