BuhariBuried (politically) on Feb 14th,
Memorial on March 28th. PDP deciding the
pace of the game now, APC started the
marathon race with great speed. Gradually tired
when some kilometres are yet to be covered.
PDP has plan A; B; and C. Plan A (feb 14th)
couldnt work, they shifted it to plan B (March
28th). They deceived APC with Plan A and they
campaigned thoroughly, butIt is gradually
working for PDP now, Jonathan gradually
gathering momentum. I still give kudos to APC
for putting the ruling party on hot seat and
forcing them to work. # BringBackBabaBuhari

Buhari faults crackdown on Boko Haram
JUNE 3, 2013

Presidential candidate for the Congress for Progressive Change in the 2011 Presidential election, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has frowned on the emergency rule in parts of the North. He alleged that innocent civilians were being killed in the states.

Buhari speaking during a Liberty FM Hausa Service Programme, Guest of the Week, on Sunday in Kaduna said that Boko Haram members were being killed and their houses demolished unlike the “special treatment” given to the Niger Delta militants by the Federal Government.

Please note that he made the statement only three months after our president visited Borno and Yobe states =>

Sign agreement on no more killings, I will withdraw JTF, Jonathan to Borno elders
March 09, 2013

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan yesterday in Maiduguri, accused Borno State Elders of playing to the gallary over the activities of Boko Haram Islamic sect insurgency in the state, describing the situation as unfortunate.
Jonathan spoke during an interactive session with Borno State stakeholders at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Government House Maiduguri, in continuation of his two- day working visit to Borno and Yobe States, the epicentres of Boko Haram.

So, as military progress is made in the North East we should not do like the American army that invaded Iraq in 2003 and had no plans for a post Saddam Iraq. Authorities at all levels must make short and medium term plans for the return of refugees, locating lost family members, rehabilitation of burnt homes and alleviating economic losses. Borno State Government has been feeding these biblical-scale multitudes and may have to do so for some time to come. This country’s Islamic leaders also need a long term plan to reign in radical clerics within constitutional limits. And it is perhaps time to end almajirci once and for all.

One of the most urgent tasks I think is that the people must be taught in a real way not to take the law into their hands. Not many people will have sympathy if real sect members who committed atrocities against fellow human beings are to suffer tragic fates. But then, if local communities are allowed to engage in wholesale de-Boko Haramisation campaigns on their own, witch-hunts and the killing of innocents are inevitable.

And so, one big lesson to learn from the very sad death of Professor Ahmed Falaki is to begin right now to teach communities all over the North, especially in the states worst afflicted by Boko Haram, how to behave in the post-Boko Haram era lest we end up doing more damage than Boko Haram did.

From....After Boko Haram, Chaos Looms.....an article in the Daily Trust of 23 Feb 2015 by Mahmud Jega.

We would do well to heed his advice. Even though the road may be long....we shall come out of this. With our heads held high, and with unity of purpose.....
