Cameroon's security forces are predicting a drawn-out battle with Boko Haram as evidence filters out that the insurgents are now recruiting there.

"We don't doubt that Boko Haram is recruiting in Cameroon," said Col. Joseph Nouma, commander of Operation ALPHA, a special military operation set up by Cameroon's government to fight the Nigerian terrorist group.

He says communities bordering Nigeria have been emptied of men between the ages of 10 and 45.

"Many of them are found across the border in Nigeria, training with the terrorists," he told CNN.

This has made it difficult for the country's defense forces to adequately estimate the power of the terrorist group. Nouma said the number of militants may be greater than is widely believed, though there is no reliable estimate of the group's strength.

"Boko Haram is a permanent metamorphosis, dying every day but recruiting every day as well," says Col. Jacob Kodji, interim commander of the 4th Military Region. "And this complicates a lot of things for us."

Nouma agreed: "We kill them, but they keep on coming."

This shows why they were able to launch multi pronged attack. They are depleting but still recruiting. And please, don't tell me poverty is making citizen to join terrorist as US and UN would want us to believe. If UN want us to believe that poverty fuel terrorism then, they have an explanation to make on what made "Jihadi John" to leave the comfort and wealthy lifestyle of US to join ISIL in Iraq. Or is it "poverty" that made "the underwear bomber" Abdulmutallad almost blew up a Detriot bound plane?.
To fellow Nigerians asking if BH has two lives, now you've heard from cameroon itself. When our Army cite numbers like "600 BH killed" some of you will question the truth in it. We've seen now that NA aint "overstating" the figure of any of their encounters with these scumbags. Now NA had been justified.
BELIEVE NIGERIAN ARMY AND THOU SHALL EAT THE GOOD OF THE LAND WHEN GOD HAVE GIVEN THEM VICTORY.

To those in the habit of bashing the Military, i will advise you join the Army and confront these scumbags than sitting before your keyboards typing codswallop comments against them. When the Army liberated some towns, some people were asking for video/photo evidence. I wonder if they dont know the way to Borno.

Islamic extremism has never been poverty and illiteracy but is fueld by radical islamic teaching because mutallab had all in life but was still trying to bomb a plane. Only when northerners start telling Muslim in mosques that killing people (arne) is bad then we can start thinking of living in peace in the north of nigeria.

The problem is not poverty but spiritual recrudescence(renewal). What we are fighting here is Ideology and not government bad policy. If US still maintain that "poverty and government incentives" fuel terrorism, then i would like to say that US government policies are responsible for global terrorism afterall, their greed for iraqi oil fuel the first terror network organized by the late Osama Bin Laden. Their invasion in 2003 rendered Iraq defensely thereby creating a gap for terrorism to thrive. That gap create ISIL now which the world is fighting to curtail now. See Libya, a country thrown into chaos since US interfere in their nation. Since Gaddafi death, that country had remained a SAFE haven for terrorist. The same weapons taken from Libyan's arsenal are spilled over into BH hand's thereby creating another terrorism network. We've been trying to curtail them for years now. See Mali, same weapons from Libya chaos orchestrated by US simply because they cant stand Ghaddafi regime. US GREEDINESS AND IMMORAL POLICIES ARE THE BASIC THRIVING GROUND FOR TERRORISM. Now, US is in stand-off with Israel over Iran Nuclear Ambition. Nigeria have reduced her ties with US severely over their "friendly foe" stunts. Russia is in a combat position for any aggression by US over her role in Ukraine crisis.
America has an explanation to make on the surge of insurgency world wide.

Una don see wetin we dey see?

9/11 marked the birth of global terrorisn and used as an effective marketing tool for the propagation and and emergence of countless terrorist networks
The arab spring hence was a deliberate move aimed @ weakening governments that would hitherto have checked the rise of these terrorist bloc's

Islam has been infiltrated by wickedness as christianity wasn't viewed as a viable tool hence the notion that terrorism is against the west where in the real sense the territories worst hit are not situated in the west .

You cannot arm and fight militias @ the same time .. Sad enough it has become easy to use islam as a tool then to brainwash and recruit jihadists.

The Real Islam is not a Violent religion!!!

Spread the word!!!

Am sure you read me right. For clarity sake, i will say this again. 1. Recruitment is easy for BH considering it feeds on Ideology(of Jihad).
2. BH is not as a result of POVERTY. If it is, adbul mutallab wont try to blow himself and the detriot bound plane up.
3. That America have an explanation to make on why terrorism has "spiral out of hand".
4. That Obama's policies is fuelling terrorism worldwide. The case of the 3 teenage girls that travelled from US through Turkey to Syria to join ISIL is an example. What about the 'chief executioner' of ISIL-- "Jihadi John"?
5. That NA should be encouraged than being criticized.
6. That NA citation of BH casualty figures is not an OVERSTATEMENT afterall considering cameroon revelation.
So, that sum it up.

The truth remains that Nigerian Army has fought gallantly in a very dirty war of attrition where some members of the community they are out to defend, has sympathy for the terrorist group.Dont forget that at a point both Maidugari Elders and our 'Mr intergrity' GMB once asked the Federal govt to quit fighting and grant Amnesty to these people and shld be treated with thesame measure as the Niger Delta militants. We know that behind the pretence and politics, most of these 'latter day saints',supports and believes that these terrorists are in a onerous task of liberating the North from the shackles of assumed prolong marginalization of the 15yrs of southern rule.
Until,we tell ourselves the truth, boko haram will keep tapping from the endless stream of brainwashed core northern youths.Their elites,Imams, traditional rulers and elders must step up,in an effort to de-radicalize their teaming population of extremists.
They Nigerian Army has done very well in this war but to some quarters, accepting this fact is like giving credibilty to GEJ,so the propaganda against GEJ must continue. ...asking for amnesty in an ideological war is like a call for national suicide,GMB and the rest owes Nigeria an apology for indirectly sustaining the war through falsehood and misinformation of their ill-informed populace.God bless the good people of Nigeria.

I think. The best thing is to locate infiltrate their cell and possibly bomb them and their leaders. This iis where secret service should come in.
And please NA should stop taking prisoners since they are too many, kill them all for we don't have food or shelter for terrorists and enemies of Nigeria.
BH sympathizer that will quote me out of contest can slaughter themselves.

there are still Islamic teachings ongoing that is springing all this Islamic terrorist, once this Islam..ic teachings is tackled,I believe it will be the beginning of the end of Islamic insurgency worldwide. cause I don't seem to see any other reason that motivates this terrorist to kill if not for the 7 virgins illusions they have that is as a result of erroneous Islamic teachings/brain washing by some Islamic clerics. I fully understand that money or poverty is not the root cause of this insurgency.
