Adoke Bello has always being a brazen cad. Yet it will be tragic if these enemies of progress are allowed to continue leading Nigeria.

Attorney General Adoke Secretly Funding Anti-Election Lawsuit Through Cronies

BY SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORK MAR 04, 2015

An investigation by SaharaReporters has revealed that Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, is the secret instigator of myriads of lawsuits that aim to scuttle Nigeria’s general elections. The elections, which were originally scheduled to start on February 14, 2015, were postponed till March 28. The postponement followed a series of maneuvers by the Presidency and top security officials determined to see to it that President Goodluck Jonathan is re-elected.

Last week, SaharaReporters revealed that the attorney general had filed sworn affidavits in support of one of the lawsuits in which an amorphous group, Society for Advancement and Protection of Public Rights, sued the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as the AGF. The lawsuit asked an Abuja high court to bar INEC from using card readers for the 2015 elections.

Embarrassed by our revelation, Mr. Adoke, one of the closest associates of Mr. Jonathan, issued a statement claiming that the officers who swore to the affidavits did not consult with him before filing the affidavits that supported the plaintiff in the case. He said that the concerned officers would be issued a query.

However, our investigation revealed that, since issuing a retraction, the AGF had not sent a query to the officers as he promised. A judicial source revealed to our correspondent that Mr. Adoke was yet to withdraw the affidavits, adding that he had not sworn to a counter affidavit.

Two of the lawyers involved in the case told SaharaReporters that Mr. Adoke’s actions and inactions clearly show that the AGF was the point man of a team of legal experts President Jonathan has assembled and given the task of using legal tactics to ensure that the 2015 elections do not hold.

A source at the Presidency told SaharaReporters categorically that Mr. Adoke was just lying about his involvement. According to the source, the AGF had received and was solely managing the disbursement of a war chest of N2 billion provided by President Jonathan to enable Mr. Adoke to recruit a retinue of groups to file lawsuits aimed at further postponement of the elections, their termination, or the disqualification of Muhammadu Buhari, the main opposition candidate. So far, persons or groups funded by Mr. Adoke have filed fifteen lawsuits related to the elections.

In an interesting case our sources said exposed Mr. Adoke’s hand, a Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday declined to grant an application for interim injunction against card readers in a case brought by four registered political parties. The lawyer who represented the plaintiffs was Alex Iziyon, Mr. Adoke’s longstanding business partner and co-owner of a private jet charter company, Izzy Air, based in Abuja. SaharaReporters learned that the case was funded by Bolaji Ayorinde, the chairman of the governing board of the Nigerian Legal Aid Council, an appointee of Mr. Adoke who is also one of the lawyers on the legal team with Iziyon to shut down that voter cards reader program.

Everything about Jona is corruption and looting.

APC is doing a very good job at exposing all their plans even before they get to hatch them.

Getting Buhari disqualified is surely impossible for them at this stage except someone is ready to be Gbagboed in the process.

The desperation of a sinking Jona is capable of taking Nigeria through another civil war.

I don't think this country will have enough space to accommodate all of us if the electoral process is scuttled.

We all know Jonathan is nothing but a self-serving, unprincipled and highly callous corruption guru. Look at how he was happy to let Boko Haram thrive for five years, gain territory and kill over 15,000.00 Nigerians yet they are now conveniently "fighting" Boko Haram after the 'postponement' of an election they were on course to lose disgracefully.

Look at the crony capitalism scam Jonathan packaged for Nigeria as "power privatisation" which is only delivering darkness? Look at the 'monetisation' destruction of the Army GEJ has supervised where Fayose and Obanikoro can threaten a senior Army officer as if he is their houseboy. That Jonathan and his minions are very wicked agents of chaos, division and regression is not in doubt. What must remain in the heart of Nigerians is the resolve to banish these evil set of people spending all Nigeria's money, meant to better the lives of the people, on perpetuating themselves in power.

APC media arm cooked lies, yet it was those same lies that made the Attorney General come to withdraw a lawsuit instituted against INEC a couple of weeks ago.
You guys are pathetic.

Jonathan can come up with a billion schemes if he likes, Nigerians are ever more resolved to give him the boots this year. They can postpone the elections all they want but Jonathan isn't gonna preside over this nation beyond May29th.

If only he had focussed on delivering on his promises in 2011, all these wouldn't have been necessary. But he thought this day would never come soon after he was sworn in. He forgot that when you are having so much fun, you never notice time flying by. He was busy looting, globe trotting and drinking and completely abdicated his seat for some fat lipped lady and some froggy eyed floozie.

Now the time has come to give account of his stewardship and all he's left with is the billions he stole over the years which he's willing to throw around to ensure this election/referendum never sees the light of day!

The dude is corruption and sleaze personified. This is why Nigeria needs change urgently. While we should have a Femi Falana or gani Fawehinmi type as AGF and Minister of justice we continue to get Aondoakaa and Adoke Bello types under the PDP. Simply disgraceful.

Nigeria’s Attorney General Adoke In Web Of Corruption; Admits Ownership Of Bank Accounts

More details are emerging about the corrupt deals of Nigeria’s Attorney General and Justice Minister Mohammed Bello Adoke – as well as the man’s mind-boggling deposits in numerous bank accounts.

Some 24-hours after an online news website, ireports-ng.com, published details of Mr. Adoke’s multi-million dollars in secret bank accounts, Nigeria's controversial attorney general admitted to another website that he in fact owns accounts in the banks reported by the website.

Mr. Adoke told Pointblanknews that he indeed owns the accounts, but claimed the deposits in the said accounts were not up to the amounts published by Ireports-ng.

“I have accounts with FCMB and Diamond Banks. I have a salary account with Intercontinental Bank and these are the only accounts I have been operating since I was appointed Attorney-General,” he told Pointblanknews.com. Then he added: “But the accounts in the said banks are far, far lower than the figures they are peddling.”

But the minister’s attempt to understate his staggering cash holdings has triggered more
revelations of his financial shenanigans. iReports.ng has released more devastating
information about Mr. Adoke’s ties to and financial involvement with several companies
that have ripped Nigerians off in fuel subsidy scams.

The site reported that some of Mr. Adoke's close allies, infuriated with his despicable
role to put down the on-going nationwide strike in the country, have provided documents
that lay bare the minister's stupendous wealth hidden in over 25 blue chip companies in
Nigeria – including firms that have reaped fraudulent profits from the contentious oil
subsidy funds.

A rundown of the documents made available to ireports-ng.com reveal that Mr. Adoke is
a major investor in Oando Oil, a firm that gulped down more than N228 billion out of the
N1.4 trillion shared by about 100 oil marketers between January and August, 2011. The
website’s investigation indicated that the Justice Minister owns an investment of about
N1.5 billion in Oando Oil PLC.

Other documents also show that Mr. Adoke has a major investment stake in Eterna Oil
which raked in about N5.57 billion from the fuel subsidy bonanza. In addition to N1 billion investment in Eterna, the minister also has N2 billion tucked in a company called
Novasys Ltd.

A top-level political source in Abuja who is close to President Goodluck Jonathan told
SaharaReporters today that the attorney general’s cozy relationship with some of the oil
marketers was the reason the government has refused to pursue the option of prosecuting
fraudulent profiteers who have cheated Nigerians of hundreds of billions of naira in the
name of fuel subsidy.

“Mohammed [Adoke] and others in government are getting their share of the subsidy
funds – and that’s why nobody is talking about trying those defrauding the system,” said
the source.

Mr. Adoke’s corrupt deals also extend to the banking, telecommunications and real estate
sectors. Reliable informants reveal that the minister has extensive investments in major
banks in the country. Some of them include about N400 million in Oceanic Bank; N200
million in UAC properties; about N20 million in Guaranty Trust Bank; about N360
million in Access Bank; about $400,000 US dollars in MTN; about N1 billion in Japaul Oil & Maritime; about N15 million in Bank PHB; about N100 million in First Bank; about N20 million in FCMB, and about N6 million in Unity Bank PLC.

Saharareporters had earlier exposed Mr. Adoke’s central role in pushing the Central
Bank of Nigeria to pay a businessman and associate of the minister an outrageous sum to
purchase a NITEL property that the businessman had bought cheap from the government.

Following our earlier report about the minister’s bank accounts, a source in one of the
banks revealed that Mr. Adoke had initiated moves to deplete his funds in the bank.

Other sources disclosed that Mr. Adoke owns more than 30 luxury vehicles that he has
purchased in the last three years alone. In addition he owns several landed properties in
Abuja. A source in the Ministry of Justice told SaharaReporters “it is well known that
the minister collects money, cars and cash from individuals and corporations on whose
behalf he subverts the course of justice.”

Saharareporters has consistently revealed that Mr. Adoke has distinguished himself as
one of the most fraudulent and corrupt ministers in the Jonathan regime. His immersion
in corruption follows a trend set by disgraced former Attorney General Michael Aondoakaa.

Like Mr. Aondoakaa, who was close to former Supreme Court Justice Aloysius Katsina-
Alu, the current AGF used his closeness to the same (now retired) justice to secure his
place in President Jonathan’s cabinet. Through his closeness to the notoriously corrupt
Katsina-Alu, Mr. Adoke fixed the apex court’s verdict upholding Mr. Jonathan’s election
as president.

Our political sources said the president is as indebted to Adoke as the late President
Umaru Yar’adua was to Aondoakaa.

A source described Adoke as “one of President Jonathan's most powerful ministers,” adding that the minister is “a core member of the president’s kitchen cabinet.”

Adoke and Jonathan both ooze corruption from every orifice - fact!

An Attorney General who is fingerr#ed as having enriched himself through fradulent means, and with a reputation that lies in tatters, is not what Nigeria needs at this hour. Problem is; this is precisely what his equally repugnant principal desires.

This is my point precisely. Nigeria will only get crooks like Aondoakaa and Adoke Bello as AGF and Justice Minister under the PDP whereas we have many competent and talented individuals who can vastly improve and strengthen our judicial arm.
