Dear Sir,
STOP YOUR BAD PRESS AGAINST THE NIGERIAN MILITARY
We are a group of patriotic Nigerians that came together under the banner of CITIZENS IN DEFENCE OF THE INTEGROTY OF NIGERIAN MILITARY (CDINM). We have noted with disgust and total indignation, the continued hostility and anti-Nigerian military reports and commentary of your newspaper, the Daily Trust. As concerned Nigerians who daily monitor news and developments in the country, particularly the counter-terrorist operation in the north east, we are appalled to note that your newspaper has consistently reported the activities of our military in a manner that neither represent the truth or promote the course of our national security.

We are here therefore to formally register our deep resentment over your editorial policy which seems to have allowed the primordial sentiments of ethnicity, religion politics or whatever interests to becloud your sense of nationalism even when reporting sensitive national security matters like the ongoing war against terror. Your consistent and unwarranted negative reportage of the military gives vent to parochialism and partisanship and has without doubt casted our gallant military in bad light while emboldening the terrorists and casting them in a toga of invincibility.

A lot of us here are from the states mostly affected by the activities of the terrorists. We have lost relations and friends; our towns and communities are devastated, our people forced into refugee situation in their own country. Our interest therefore is to assist our military to end this scourge to enable us live our normal lives again. We do not need media reports that will aggravate the situation or embolden the terrorists and their accomplices.

Our visit here today is essentially to add our voice of caution to those whose stock in trade is to willfully denigrate and ultimately destroy the only indispensable and unifying institution in our dear country to be mindful of the dangers and consequences of your perfidy and to remind you that Nigerian is greater than them. Please be reminded that we are not your enemies or protagonists; we are rather your loyal readers who are concerned about your unfair reports and commentary against our cherished military. Thank you as you make amends beginning from today.

I'm beginning to enjoy this

Obviously some set of Nigerians won't love this protest since they enjoy all the malicious and negative reporting of our politically motivated press.
Sahara Reporters were art thou? Hopefully this protest can be staged against Sahara Reporters who are yet to report a single news about our triumphant militar y.

Some Nigerians are ready to do anything to destroy Nigeria in order to bring down the government or spite Jonathan. (Is Nigeria's loss your gain?)
If at the end GEJ still wins (Nigeria loses her reputation from your action and you still lose)

This is a misdirected protest and picketing. They should have directed their action to Aso Rock and GEJ because GEJ has reduced Nigerian Military to ordinary "Boys scout" that hears the sound of gun and take to their heels.

These newspapers have to be called to order.

Tell which government would tolerate the crass unprofessionalism of a newspaper like Punch which has a habit of spreading falsehood and sensationalism?

One of the greatest threats to our democracy has to be the media. Some of them are now abusing the freedom of speech to publish seditious and treasonable information.

Tinubu owns The Nation newspapers.

Leadership newspaper.is owned by another APC stalwart.

Premium Times is owned as well by APC stalwart.

Sahara Reporters,Daily Trust and Punch are in APC paylist.

Also,Punch and Osun Defender, are fighting tribal war.

Dont take any news from them serious, the are APC media outlets.

Have they gone to protest against AIT,this day and NTA that are destroying the nation by feeding us with false reports?
Don't they know what NTA and AIT are doing is worse.
But most importantly d military has not had a history of saying d truth since this war began.
What modern state military do is to take journalists to conquered territories for objective reports, but d Nigerian military still wants sane people to take their tweets and doctored photographs as fact! The world has gone beyond that stage.
What this paid protesters shd be doing is safeguarding their voters cards and preparing to vote rather than creating a nuisance.

Go and stand up. What false report did NTA and AIT feed you? That Tinubu has cornered Lagos State funds and continues to do so. That Buhari threatened to make Nigeria ungovernable ; with a call on his baboons and dogs to soak in blood. Are all these false reports? Keep standing there oooo.

The protesters should add Al jazeera, CNN and other international media.
This is what you get when you deny media access to the battlefront and they are sick of the one sided political information from the military and this not sincere govt.
Kudos to the Nigeria Army for the successes recorded so far

The media has covered full scale war in many instances with little or no casualty. And to the best of my knowledge this is insurgency and not war.
No one is running the military down I just think the over politicisation of the military under this government has eroded the high standard and integrity once associated with our Military. The many half truths, misinformations, and lies has made many Nigerians not trust the military.
The Media here rely on information from foreign media and the military solely for information about the war. They have reported every statement from the military - what else do you expect? You want them not manufacture "facts" or invent " news"?
