NYSC Online Registration: 10 Costly Mistakes To Avoid by Nobody: 9:06pm On Mar 09, 2015
Since the the start of NYSC Online Registration
for Batch A 2015 on 2nd March, we have received
several complaints from candidates regarding
errors in filling the application form on NYSC
website. Most of these mistakes were made out
of ignorance, a gross of others out of
carelessness. Prospective Corp Members who are
yet to register should carefully follow these
instructions to ensure they apply online before the
deadline and stand a chance of being mobilized
by May this year. Avoid the following errors while
filling the form online!

1. Register at official NYSC Websites: We
discovered that majority of you do not even know
the correct website for online call-up number
registration. To help ensure you don’t fall prey to
any scam or misinformation, the websites to use
are:
www.nysc.gov.ng
www.nysc.org.ng
www.portal.nysc.gov.ng

2. Use Valid, functional email: The email address
you are to submit to NYSC should be one that is
valid and functional. To confirm this before
starting your online registration, login into that
email first and confirm that you have access to it.
This is because a link will be sent there which
you should follow to complete the registration. If
you do not have an email address and would like
to create one, we recommend you click here to
open, preferably a Gmail Account. Wondering why
we suggest Gmail? Well, because Google is our
partner and it’s easy to use too!

3. Use Real, Valid Phone Number: Be careful if
you are going to register this from a cyber cafe or
some kind of computer centers. Don’t let them
use their contact phone number in place of your
own. Be looking into their system when they are
registering, to avoid stories that touch!
Alert! Don’t miss our list of 29 items to bring to
NYSC camp. Read them here.

4. Use Correct JAMB Registration (and
Matriculation) Numbers: Provide correct
veriafiable information about the registration
number JAMB gave to you the year you gained
admission. Do same with your school
matriculation numbers. You won’t be mobilized if
these two differ from true. If you have lost yours,
see how to get it back here or contact us .This
applies to locally trained graduates. Foreign-
trained colleges should not bother about this.

5. Foreign-Trained? It is the responsibility of the
prospective corps members who studied in non-
English speaking countries to get their Certificates
and Transcripts translated into English language
before uploading. Unlike in the past, Foreign-
trained graduates should not visit NYSC
Headquarters, Abuja for verification of their
documents. This exercise will now be done at the orientation camps.

They should simply print their call-up letters on-
line and report at the Orientation camps in their
States of deployment, but should come along with
the original documents they uploaded to the
camp where they will be verified. Those who
graduated from Institutions outside Nigeria,
(Foreign-trained graduates), are to visit the NYSC
portal, register and upload the following
documents:
West African School Certificate(WASC) (with
not less than 5 Credits at 2 sittings) or its
equivalent,
General Certificate of Education (GCE O’ Level)
(with not less than 5 Credits at 2 sittings) or
its equivalent,
NECO (with not less than 5 Credits at 2
sittings) or its equivalent
First Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND)
Certificate (Second Degree or Ph.D not
necessary).
Transcript of the first Degree or HND.
International travelling Passport showing data
page and date of departure.

6. Doctors and Pharmacists: All graduates of
Medicine and Pharmacy are expected to have
their Certificates of Registration with Nigerian
Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (NMDCN)
and Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN)
respectively. Payment receipts are not acceptable.

7. Make sure the passport uploaded is yours:
Prospective corps members should ensure that it
is their accurate passport size photograph that is
captured during registration.
Ensure your face (eyes, nose, ears, mouth and
jaw) is fully shown without bending
Ensure the picture fills the frame and
centralized.
Ensure the Photo background is white or off-
white with no shadow.

8. Don’t register by PROXY: On no account
should prospective corps members register by
PROXY. They should also remember the finger
used for their biometric capturing as this will be
used for data verification at the orientation camp.
Those who cannot be verified with their biometric
at the orientation camp will not be registered.

9. A female and married? Married female
prospective corps members should submit copies
of their marriage Certificate, evidence of Change
of name and their husband’s place of domicile
including their call-up numbers to their schools or
nearest NYSC Secretariats. Foreign-trained
graduates should upload theirs during
registration.

10. Part Time Graduate? All Part-time graduates
are also expected to register on-line, even though
they qualify for Exclusion .

PLEASE NOTE THAT ONCE THE PORTAL IS
CLOSED ON SATURDAY, 4TH APRIL 2015, THERE
WILL BE NO FURTHER REGISTRATION.
