I remember I was feeling scared for Ant-Man & as usual Marvel surprised me, now I'm feeling scared for Doctor Strange, but I've become more confident with Marvel, seriously see how they handled GotG, but they better not mess up. They've got at least 3 actors I really like in it - Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor & Tilda Swinton, and I'm hoping with the calibre of those actors they don't mess up.

UPDATE: Here's a screenshot of my Google search, so it's looking good. One of my major issues was how it was going to fit in the MCU, but judging from the first headline, it looks like it will be fine. Oh and I haven't read any of the reviews. I shall see for myself on the 25th at 8pm (probably 8:30, adverts and all).

So I just finished watching Luke Cage and sadly I was a little disappointed. The story was great but I felt they didn't do enough with the supporting characters. Misty Knight was supposed to bring out the counter balance but they just gave everyone half scripts. Cottonmouth in the beginning then Diamondback at the end with Mariah and Shades in between. The 2 seasons of Daredevil were gripping as was Jessica Jones. Cage help make the latter happen. Still putting on hope for Ironfist after the trailer. Hope the director doesn't disappoint.

Netflix and Marvel have just announced
five additional cast members joining
Marvel’s The Punisher.

Daniel Webber (11.22.63 has been cast
as Lewis Walcott, “a young veteran who
has had a difficult time re-assimilating
into Civilian Society.”

Jason R. Moore (A Lonely Place for
Dying) plays Curtis Hoyle, a friend of
Frank Castle and one of the very few
people who know that Castle is still alive.
In the Marvel Comics universe, Hoyle is
a veteran who met Castle in Vietnam.

Paul Schulze (Nurse Jackie) will play
Rawlins, a high-ranking member of the
CIA whose operations in Afghanistan
lead him to cross paths with Castle.
Rawlins is a character from the Punisher
MAX comic book series.

Jaime Ray Newman (Bates Motel) plays
Sarah Lieberman, the wife of Micro, the
Punisher’s tech support/sidekick, played
by Ebon Moss-Bachrach). Micro’s
involvement with the Punisher greatly
complicates his marriage to Sarah.

"We couldn't have asked for a more
talented group of actors to round out the
cast of Marvel's The Punisher," said
Executive Producer and showrunner
Steve Lightfoot. "It's a thrill to watch
them each bring their characters to life
with such layered, nuanced
performances.

"Marvel TV is very proud of the cast of
The Punisher," said Executive Producer
Jeph Loeb, "Each actors brings a special
promise who surround Jon Bernthal's
exceptional performance."
Deborah An Woll will reprise her role as
Karen Page from Marvel’s Daredevil for
Marvel’s The Punisher, alongside star Jon
Bernthal as the Punisher himself, Frank
Castle. Bernthal debuted in the role in
Marvel’s Daredevil Season 2.
Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) is writing the
first two episodes of Marvel’s The
Punisher for Netflix and will serve as
series showrunner and Executive
Producer. Jim Chory and Jeph Loeb are
also executive producers.

So finally back from watching DS (took a very long detour). Did I enjoy it? Yes. They really bent the rules of the MCU. DS is your typical MCU film, you'll be entertained, you'll certainly laugh even after [and/or during] an intense moment. Sometimes it did feel like I was watching Inception: MCU & the final boss (not the villain, technically his boss) battle was rather interesting. At least it wasn't blue light effect fighting (see Suicide Squad & Fant4stic). I did wish the film was longer though - yes, I'm weird like that, it certainly wasn't more than 2 hours (I don't think it was up to 2 sef even with the credits. Yes, there's a mid-credit & post credit scene). They did try to put as much as they could, Dr. Stephen Strange is practically Tony Stark, he's got the brains, money (not as much) & the arrogance, your typical gifted specialist surgeon. The villain was...well a MCU villain - he had some valid points, but he's no Loki & his endgame was kinda silly*...but with the post credit scene, we do have potential for a greater villain - a moral one (at least to himself). *Oh and he needed more screen time.

The theme of this film is certainly about broken individuals, who are looking for solutions and inevitably get drawn into something else. The magic in this film (& I'm guessing the MCU in general) is rather interesting. DS brings a whole new paradigm into the MCU & it will be interesting to see how it's used in the rest of the MCU. Oh & Marvel have updated their intro, it now incorporates the MCU live action characters.

It was nice seeing the GotG v2 teaser trailer on the big screen. Oh and watch out for the cameo in the mid-credit scene.

Great to hear, thanks for the feedback. Now I'm even more excited to watch this

Two questions though, how would you tank this movie in terms of the MCU, and will it crack your top 5 favorite MCU movies? Oh and how would you rank Doctor Strange in terms of power level in the MCU? He's always been one of the strongest in the comics so I'm curious to see if they kept that or they nerfed him

If we were judging on visual effects alone, this film would rank very high, but I don't think it would crack my top 5. To be honest I don't even know my top 5, I do know that CA:WS, Avengers & GotG are certainly there, but I'll certainly watch it again. Since this is an origin story, we are bound by its usual trappings - some things are rushed along to get the story moving, some characters are ignored....

As for Strange, he is a n00b, even he's a very intelligent & a quick study, still a fast progressing n00b with lots of potential. He's certainly going to be more powerful in his next appearance.

So like Scarlet Witch level of n00b or Vision level? Let me put this another way, can he realistically take out all the Avengers at the same time based on this movie in a straight fight? Cos that's what he's capable of in the comics

Damn this movie might end up being the best rated cbm of 2016! Didn't expect this, can't wait to see this Nov 4th

More like Scarlet Witch, with the potential to become Vision.

OK that makes sense as he's still inexperienced. One last thing, rank the cbms this year on order of quality

Watched Doctor strange yesterday. Has the normal formula of an original story but still remains interesting.

Fun ride from start to finish and quite a few more jokes than I expected. I'd rate it between 8.5 and 9.5.

Would be quite an experience to watch it in 3d.

He's come to bargain! DOCTOR STRANGE debuted with $85M--the 14th consecutive #1 debut for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Overseas, DOCTOR STRANGE continued to enchant, conjuring up an additional $118M this weekend, $240M total. That totals the good Doctor's box office to $325M so far. Get this man a sequel, stat

I won't mind rewatching it on IMAX. I really liked that final boss "fight" - the memes that it will create. Geez, folks are already spamming YouTube DS videos with it in the comments section.

Doctor Strange was way better than I'd hoped. Still hope to see it again in IMAX. MCU is winning. Next year is going to be even better with Spiderman: Homecoming, GOTG 2 and Thor: Ragnarok. Can't wait.
