We all have our different perception about life.I might be dull to some people and otherwise to some people as-well.
Any-ways. I was with my dad,his younger brother and a pastor(so he said). They were talking about Gods creation of this very world and everything within then I discovered that God created every other thing before he created man on the 6th day( mind u, he created woman from the ribs of the man after thinking for sometime). My confusion now is this. (As a one time student of biology, I was meant to understand that even trees has both male and female.) When God created both animals and trees, did he create them both male and female immediately? And if he did, why didn't he create woman the moment he created man? And if he didn't,does it mean that the moment he realised that man needs a companion and thus created woman, that he went back to create feminine species of all other things he created b4 man? (both animals and trees). The pastor said that I am trying to question God, as a christian,I need to understand the teachings of the bible and not otherwise. Be free to call me names, its allowed.

Your question, as to wheather he created animals male and female?
The answer is Yes. For diversity and recreation.
It is important that you note that God intended to create Man as male alone, unlike other animals where He added female factors, but he thought it would not be good for the man who is of higher thinking to be alone, so he created the woman. Note that in Genesis, God had the knowledge of a woman all along, he only thought he could create man alone since there is no female factor to his divinity, remember man was created first in his likeness, but seeing the fragility of the man He created woman for companionship as primary aim (this became sole problem of humanity till date). God was and Is perfect alone.

Too bad he created man with joystick thinking man would be perfect alone (probably to be wanking (self service)) buh Oops he turned out to be dead wrong, so he created woman thought again that he was helping man but ended up creating the ultimate problem for man..woooow I love this grin

Oh I used the word 'thought' instead of 'know' for synthax and correctness but actually He simply made a statement like ''let us make man in our own image'' and later he said ''it is not good for the man to be alone'' it was as though he knew already what would be. But the logical flow of the above statement made it obvious he didn't intend to add a female factor to the man. Again his gesture of utilizing a rib from the man shows the simplicity of the female creation, like a sculptor who decided to add an ear to an image created. Biblically speaking everything went to plan until the fall of man.

He didn't intend to add a female factor but later did because he turned out his original intensions were flawed...this was supposed to be an all knowing deity right? perfect being but evidently reeks of imperfection.. Why did he later add the female factor since he never intended to add it in his original plan and why would he create other animals in pairs then man he creates alone ironically with an active joystick smiley

Read through this thread, it had a similar question -and answers. The female was not an after-thought to God. God didn't 'realise' man needed a female. Male and female were created same time.

One sure thing is that I ve not gotten a cogent answer to dis question, sori to say that majority of us are not sticking to my question, I really don't know how to say this again. Thus I will rephrase it. " Did God create woman as a second thought? When he created man, didn't he have it in mind that man would also procreate? Creating all other creatures in pairs and then man alone without the thought of woman, aint he being unfair to man from the onset? Does it mean that when he created man that his intentions were that man will live for eternity for him to give that same man charge over every other thing he created which will definitely procreate? As I ponder on my initial reason for creating this very thread, things tends to be more and more complex in-terms of complications." My question still remains simple." Did God ever made a mistake of not creating woman the moment he created man?"(Apart from the after thoughts).

I didn't border to address the OP because of this post.

Thus I will rephrase it. " Did God create woman as a second thought?

No both man and woman were already in the plan of God it's not a second THOUGHT that will diminish Omniscient of God.

When he created man, didn't he have it in mind that man would also procreate?

He actually did only that you didn't pay attention to how you read creation account of man in Genesis.

First thing you must know is that the word 'MAN' is interchangeably used for; 1) the primary person in the group which is Adam, 2) Adam and his wife (the name EVE does not appear not until after the FALL), and 3) Mankind in general.

So let's read the creation account of man in Genesis and see whether God has the woman in mind.

"And God said, Let us make MAN (singular) in our image, after our likeness: and let THEM (Plural) have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 And God created MAN (Singular) in his own image, in the image of God created he HIM (singular); male and female created he THEM (plural). 28 And God blessed THEM (plural): and God said unto THEM (plural), Be fruitful, and multiply,..." Gen 1:26-28 ASV (capital and bracket mine)

With this in mind then we can move further.

Creating all other creatures in pairs and then man alone without the thought of woman, aint he being unfair to man from the onset? Does it mean that when he created man that his intentions were that man will live for eternity for him to give that same man charge over every other thing he created which will definitely procreate?

NO! As we can see from above passage.

As I ponder on my initial reason for creating this very thread, things tends to be more and more complex in-terms of complications." My question still remains simple." Did God ever made a mistake of not creating woman the moment he created man?"(Apart from the after thoughts).

God never gave it a SECOND thought neither was it a mistake.

I think where the confusion sets in when you read Genesis Chapter 2 in isolation of the rest of creation account of MAN and more importantly when you read in Chapter two that Adam did the whole work of NAMING all the animals before his wife was created WHEREAS the point God wants to draw out from Genesis chapter 2 is IMPORTANCE of MARRIAGE.

Remember, I am a fallible man trying to understand the mind of an infallible God.

The problem with Christians is that we don't understand who Christ is. We know the Bible but we don't know Christ.
"For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him." (Col 1:16).
The purpose and the meaning of everything is Christ. When God was creating the world He created it as a picture of Christ. The old creation of God is a picture, shadow, representation and type of the new creation which is Christ Himself. What happened in the creation on humans was a representation of what will happen when Christ come.

Now lets compare:
"14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come." (Rom 5:14)
Adam was a type of Christ.

"30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church." (Eph 5:30-32).
"23 And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." (Gen 2:23-24).
The union between Adam and Eve is a type or representation of the union between Christ and the Church.

From this we could conclude that:
1) Adam is a type of Christ.
2)Eve is a type of the Church.
3)The union of Adam and Eve is a type of the union of Christ and the Church.
4)The bachelor time of Adam was a type of the bachelor time of Christ.
5) The creation of Eve from Adam is a type of the creation of the Church from Christ.

"21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man." (Gen 2:21-22).
"34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. 35 And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe." (John 19:34-35).

God put Adam into a deep sleep, God also put Jesus into a deep sleep on the cross.
God remove a bone from Adam's side, God also removed blood and water from Jesus side.
God use the bone to create Adam, God also use the blood and water to create the Church. The blood was for redemption while the water is for life, cleansing and spiritual growth through the word of God.
"26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish." (Eph 5:26-27).
God presented Eve to Adam after creating her with the bone, God will also present the Church to Christ after creating and perfecting are with the blood and water (during Christ second coming )

So God knows what He was doing when He was creating Adam and Eve. He was giving us a picture of Christ. God was trying to tell us about Christ first and second coming.

I hope you understand, I try to make it as short as possible.

Biblical references.

Adam was not the first man God created.

Gen 1:26 tells of the creation of the world in six days, man and woman were created on the sixth day. And God set them over the whole surface of the earth telling them to be fruitful and multiply. Woman was already in God's world plan. She wasn't an afterthought.
And on the seventh day God rested.

Gen 2: 4-6 talks of the genealogy of creation. A recast on how the earth was created. It was a common practice in the Bible if you see Exodus, Leviticus etc and how people's genealogy were traced down.

Gen 2:7-25 talks about the creation of a man called Adam. And God took Adam and put him in a garden that he planted. But Adam was lonely, so God created the birds and animals and brought them to him and he named them all. But man was still lonely so God caused him to fall into a deep sleep during which he created a woman.
And man was finally not lonely.

And then the serpent came.

You guys sometimes make ur God sound foolish. If you want to have a God so badly why can't you at least make him reasonable. This una trial and error God no workoooo. He didn't know woman would be important to his most loving and cherished and important creation but he knew animals and plants needed female counterpart.

Genesis 1:26-28King James Version (KJV)

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

1. God makes men and women(plural) not one man and one woman.

"My punishment is greater than I can bear, Behold, Thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass that everyone that findeth me shall slay me." (Genesis 4:13‑14)
this is cain after God punished him.
Who was cain afraid of? Why did God answer him by putting a mark on him?

Cain had sexual relations with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch. Then Cain founded a city, which he named Enoch, after his son. ◄ Genesis 4:17

where did cain get his wife?
cain founded a city. you cannot found a city for two people. There were people that came into the city of Enoch, which cain had named after his son.

@hiswordxray,

the problem with most christians, and most atheists that were formally christians, is that they are 'sola scriptura'; they believe the bible contains all the works and history of GOd and never bothered to read further. If they did, they would discover the awesomeness of GOD and develop an even deeper relationship with him.

many of these atheists that scream out on these threads and sorry to say, some of the christains too...are mushroom people. They get just a little knowledge and they start running helter-skelter with it, thinking they have discovered something no one else has. They are like mushrooms that begin to grow rapidly with the littlest nourishment they get, but wither quickly because they have no real deep roots. it is the imperfection of man that sees him gathering a little knowledge or power and suddenly feeling he knows more than anyone else around him (e.g johnydon22 that was a catholic only a few moments ago and now one of the most prominient fore-runners for atheism/humanism on this forum ).
