[b]Daniel Sturridge believes the top four position remains a priority for Liverpool, despite his manager Brendan Rodgers claiming his side can finish runner-up behind league leaders Chelsea. Brendan Rodgers insisted that second place Manchester City could be caught. Liverpool's victory over Swansea took their unbeaten run to 13 league matches. Sturridge is primarily focused on UEFA Champions League qualification. Although, he had not given up hope of finishing second behind Chelsea. "It is important to secure fourth place and then from there look on," the England striker told Liverpool's official website. "To finish in the top four is realistic for us, it's what we're aiming to do, and if we can get higher than that then perfect. "But finishing in the top four is the objective and that's the most important thing for us. It's not about aiming for anything other than that now. "If we can finish in the top four, then we can push on and challenge for the title again next season. "I think top four is definitely possible for us." After Liverpool's exceptional unbeaten streak run last season, many thought it was due to Liverpool having the prolific finisher Luis Suarez leading the attack line of Liverpool. A 11 game winning streak put Liverpool in position to win the English Premier League title for the first time in 24 years. They needed seven points in the last three games to claim the title. However they slumped at the end and Manchester City claimed the title. Luis Suarez joined Barcelona for a record transfer fee and it looked like Liverpool would not produce the kind of form they had last season. The season started poorly but Brendan Rodgers changed the formation to a 3-4-3 formation and their form picked up. Rodgers showed he was the brain behind their top form last season. Their unbeaten run shows Liverpool can keep up the momentum for a long run. Something I am not sure Manchester United or Arsenal are capable of.
