After getting admission at Universityof Ibadan, he obtained B.Sc (Hons) in PetroleumEngineeringin the year 1991.
From 1992to 1993, ChiefOnovo worked with ShellPetroleum Developmentbefore heleft to pursue highereducationin the USA.
In 1994, he alsoobtainedhis M.Sc in PetroleumEngineeringat Houston, the UnitedStates ofAmerica.
He has beena memberof the Institute ofTransport Administration, Nigerian Society ofEngineers (MNSE) as well as Emupo DevelopmentUnion.
In 2011, he was the presidential candidateof Action Alliance(AA) and a publicaffairsanalyst.
His beliefis that the opposition, All ProgressivesCongress(APC), is nothing but the same as the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and that he is the right man to solve the myriads ofproblemfacing thecountry and collectivecommonweal.
On 13 January 2015, the Independent National ElectoralCommission(INEC) named Martin Onovo presidential candidateand IbrahimMohammedhis runningmate.
