The first place baptism was mentioned throughout the bible was NT - Mtt. 3... - by John Baptist.

*WHAT IS BAPTISM?
Baptism etymologically stems from the Greek word 'baptizo' which primarily means "dip", immerse". There are three types of ~ Matt. 3:11
1. Water ~
2. Holy Ghost ~
3. Fire ~
But so many preachers don't know there is difference between the 2nd and the 3rd ~

Some theologians tried to indict some events in the OT - crossing of the red sea, Noah and the flood etc, - as anti types of water baptism whereas one striking thing(the truing characteristic of baptism) is missing in this two indictments...

1. a bowl
2. water
3. a piece of foam
»Procedure:
Fill the bowl with the water and put the piece of foam into it.
»Result:
(a). the foam sunk (covered outwardly)
(b). the foam got soaked (filled inwardly)

COMPARE AND CONTRAST
1. In crossing the red sea, the Israelites passed on a dry ground and an empty space(atmosphere) over them. There was no contact with water.
2. Noah was concealed in a wooden house and was made to float. There was no contact with water.

If you don't grasp these details you won't gain the in-depth message the master pictured through baptism. One OT event that corroborates with baptism is the issue with leprosy (Lev. 13). The correlation is thus, where the priest will have to sprinkle an ex-victim of leprosy with pure water mixed with a bird's blood and some herbs, to certify(sanctify) and "publicly confirm that the person is eligible to cohabit or be united with the generality of the society" once again". This public annunciation & declaration of integration decision and qualification is the correlation thereon. The red sea and Noah events both point to 'salvation'. They were saved FROM the water NOT the other way round.

Water baptism does not save, does not cleans/purify, does not give power, does not bring about anything 'change' in the life of the baptized. However, these three types of baptisms are interwoven.

SYMMETRY INTER-ALIA
*Water baptism fills one up like fire baptism and fire baptism can not be without holy ghost baptism.
*water baptism is physically representative (shadow) of holy ghost baptism(reality); as the seal/mark of belonging in the family of Christ - Eph. 4:30, while that mark of belonging(holyghost ~) entitles you to the power which is the ~ of fire.
When you except Jesus, the second baptism takes place immediately, It is the stamp of ownership God places on you.

NOTE:
1. the second baptism does not give power, it is the holy ghost in "a quenched form" residing in you.
2. Water baptism does not actually meet the goal, it's just a shadow so, there is no need dogmatizing it. We do it to fulfill all righteousness(not as necessity).
3. Jesus was born in OT so, though he was birthing the NT yet had to observe some salient shadow(in OT) to highlight(for our attention a) pivotal reality (of NT)- holy ghost baptism which validates our belonging.
4. The second baptism actually comes first, it happens immediately you accept Jesus - God's seal/mark of ownership.
5. Your physical life will yet assume little or no change despite the occurrence of the 2nd ~, except with passing time.
6. It is holy ghost ~(filling/ being filled) that makes the difference.

The power to be a practitioner after you have become a christian(holyghost ~), is to be filled(fire ~).
*John said "but he shall baptize you with holy ghost and with fire - Mtt. 3:11
Jesus affirmatively explained the 'fire', "and you shall receive POWER after that the holy ghost(2nd ~) has come upon you" Acts 1:8
Apst. Paul reiterated, "be not drunk with wine wherein in excess but be filled with the holy ghost" Eph. 5:18
My translation of Paul, "as *the excess* of wine takes control(which should anyway never be our case), let us crave the *3rd ~* (the excess) of the holy ghost. Eph. 5:18

When apst. Paul said "be filled", he was talking about the 'fire' John mentioned which is thesame as the 'power' Jesus christ confirmed. This is the difference between a nominal christian and a practicing christian or a weak one and a triumphant one. The reason devil can still buffet you with affliction like when you were yet to know christ is not because there is no holy ghost in you but because you are not filled; you lack the power. The reason you still struggle with in-dwelling/ habitual sins(sins in your bloodline or associated with your race) is because you lack the fire. It's not because you don't belong to God or have the holy ghost - NO! It's rather because you have not been kindled or maybe once kindled but has been quenched.

When we are talking about the baptism of fire(which many preacher mean when they talk about he baptism of the holy ghost), it is not for the holy ghost to enter you anew - NO! It's rather, for the fire/ power of God to possess you afresh, for the holy spirit in you to be allowed out of dormancy with specific scepter(s)/ portfolio(s). It is a matter of divine ordination; God releasing HIS ZEAL into your life to function for him again. It is a matter of you losing the control of your life over to God. Like the excess of alcohol does. It is the power that displays your life in new windows and causes the newness thereof to rupture. This is the power that turns you into god. It is the power you desire! The power you need to have!! The power God wants you to have!!! The breath of exploit.

It is God connecting you to his fountain. This brings us to our text - Jn. 15:4-5
You must be connected and continually connected to the fountain and flow of God's power and purpose. It involves being involved in his businesses on day to day basis. Ceaselessly on course with his course, driven and active for Him. That is what it means to 'abide' and that is how the power/ fire accumulates and sustains - to "be filled".

More to this fortunately, God sends down fire from heaven in meetings and moments like this. Where atmosphere and heart(s) with genuine huger are presented before him. Oh how much it is the father's delight that the children walk in light!
