I watched a programme where a mixed race girl was trying to find her mum and dad. The white woman (her mum) gave her up for adoption claiming she was raped by a black man. At the end nearly 30+ years later she told the girl the truth that she had an affair with a black man and in those days it was a huge taboo for a white woman to sleep with a black man.
It was so sad because this poor girl hated that she was half black she hated black people. She was adopted by a white family. She always felt confused and left out. Her adoptive grandparents were the one's who pushed her to search and accept her colour. I prefer when the mother is black and the father is white. It's easier to be mixed and raised around black people than white people. Not these days as much but.....
