Lagos - Despite a Federal High Court ruling, the
Federal government has deployed military troops
across the country ahead of the upcoming
elections, Naij reported.
The government in a statement, said that the
troops were disposed to ensure peace, order and
stability during the elections.
Mike Omeri, the coordinator of the National
Information Centre, told journalists in Abuja that
there would be a sufficient amount of security
and urged Nigerians to obey the law.
He added that the government had not gone
against the ruling of the Federal High Court as
the troops were there to maintain order.
He also added that President Jonathan was well
within the constitution to deploy the troops and
that no court could go against it.
