Check some of their surnames especially Bayesla people
Does it mean that it is mostly the Niger Deltans that were used for slave trade. Yoruba too bears English name mostly, check out Funsho Williams.

Did I mention slave trade please dont misquote me, my point is that Niger Delta people are the people most likely to bear english surnames especially Ijaw tribe I dont know the reason but what I observe is that they adapted to the foreign culture easily. note not all of them bears english surnames

Yes, you are right! I think the whites that came to Nigeria then in the olden mostly occupied this region alot that's why. My opinion though. I stand to be corrected.
