Jonathan Leads In Nasarawa by Nobody: 7:40am On Mar 30, 2015
Results so far released in the presidential polls in Nasarawa State indicates that President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken lead ahead of his closest rival and candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Gen. Mohammadu Buhari.

Results from four local government areas show announced at the time of filing this report showed that the PDP polled a total of a 74, 366 votes as against the APC which polled a total of 47, 461 votes.

Breakdown of the results announced at the National Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters Lafia, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Alhaji Abdulahi Umar Danyaya, said in Obi local government area PDP polled 22, 693 as against APC which polled 12, 543. In Keana PDP got 8, 813 to APCs 7, 515.

The same was for Kokona where the PDP got 23, 682, while the APC polled 14, 500. In Doma PDP got 19, 178 to APCs 12,903.

In other elections the PDP candidate of the Nasarawa North senatorial district, Hon. Philip Gyunka, defeated his closest opponent of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Hon. Sam Allu with only 451 votes in a keenly contested election.

Hon. Gyunka (PDP) polled 32, 761 while Allu got 32, 310 to place second. The candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Idris Yahuza came a distant third.

Ongoing collation at the Abacha Youth Center showed that the candidates of the PDP in Nasarawa South senatorial district, Lafia/Obi and Awe/Doma/Keana federal constituencies, Sen. Suleiman Adokwe, Dr. Joseph Kigbu and Hon. Ogoshi Onawo were all in comfortable lead as at press time.

In the western senatorial zone the candidate of the PDP, Hon. Aliyu Ahmed Wadada, was was being trailed by his closest rival, Sen Abdullahi Adamu by a little over a thousand votes. Results from Nasarawa and Karu local government areas were marred by irregularities prompting the returning officer, Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed, to proceed to Lafia for rectification by the Resident Electoral Commissioner.

I thought APC have announced results here that Buhari won.

With official results gradually coming in and most of APC posted online results getting nullified, its becoming obvious that elections are not an emotional social media thing.

Well, we'll wait for official figures.

BTW, I voted for PDP and I have no regrets, whatever happens.

With all this bomb nonsense dat happened in the east, Buhari still can never win cos no vacancy in Aso rock.
He can only be the president of the north not the south. We the South_easteners and south-south still voted massively.
We are stronger and united than they think. We are Gods own people. GEJ is our man and he is the one holding Nigeria 2geda. If not we will create BiafrA repulblic at all cost.

Therefore GEJ must and will win.

if this is true it throws my calculations back into a mess. With GEJ loosing Ondo my statistical model had given the election to Buhari. However should GEJ really win in Nasarawa , and then win in Adamawa and Taraba then it really becomes interesting and my analysis would then be for GEJ to win with a slim margin.

This is going to be tight, no wonder they are 'over cooking' the SS and SE results.

With the results so far, it show that people are in between two opinions - whether to give this CHANGE a chance or to continue with the transformation.

Whichever way it goes, let the parties involved accept the outcome in good faith even though I know that Christmas will come early for many lawyers as some people will not go down without a fight.

In all, may Nigeria continue to prosper.

It's quite a pity the APGA candidate for Nasarawa North senatorial district lost to PDP by a paltry 451 votes.. A good evidence that it's just a thin line between success and failure
