Katyusha:
Its like the Army doesn't know that some of us have schedules. Why not just upload the videos online? Who watches NTA these days?

Am sick of it also, I think it high time they learn from the NAF public awareness .

Media propaganda is a very powerful tool in CION.

Operatives of the Operation Delta Safe made a ground-breaking raid of a militant camp on Wednesday during which they arrested three suspected members of the Niger Delta Avengers, who were part of the group that attacked 343 troops located at Nembe.

The Avengers had attacked the troops on August 8, 2016, and killed four soldiers.

However, the ODS operatives led by Rear Admiral Joseph Okojie, acting on a tip-off, were able to track them to their camp
at Epebu Creek in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area in Bayelsa.

THISDAY exclusively gathered that the ODS had carried out a search and rescue operation based on a tip-off from well-placed citizens in the area.

Acting on that, the three suspects were arrested at Ogboinbiri, and preliminary interrogation of them revealed that they were part of the gang that attacked and killed some soldiers.

It was based on other subsequent information ferreted out of the suspects that the taskforce was able to carry out a raid on Epebu Creeks.

Using the element of surprise to their advantage, the troops were able to decimate the camp, recorded no casualty on their part and also recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition.

THISDAY gathered that the ODS taskforce was able to recover nine AK 47 rifles, one FN rifle, four HK 21 machine guns, one G3 machine gun, three General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG), 20 AK 47 magazines, two G3 magazines, one FN magazine, one gun powder container, one Epenal gun boat, a large quantity of ammunition 7.62 NATO and special.

A military source who spoke on anonymity to THISDAY said the arrest was a morale booster for the troops, adding that it doesn’t mean they have relaxed their guard, but that they are still closely monitoring the situation.

Bros, you are right but we are making progress.

We are in the last phase of clearing boko haram from Borno (NE).

Oil bunkers/ vandals in South West is no longer a threat.

NW and NC is gradually being sanitized.

SE not much of a threat.

The only serious threat is South South and from the look of things it seems something is happening underground. It look like they are gradually going down like boko haram. Within few months we would hear news.

Look around and you will discover that we no longer have SSS going in land cruisers and camouflage. They now know their job and am sure they are delivering well.

God knows why shit is glaring now
but
I think a way to reduce this overstretch is to train special departments of the police militarily (smtin like Russian OMON)...these low intensity conflicts shld b the work of ATS and MOPOL

To me niger delta has never being a threat, if we meet there demands and dialogue with them in no time, every thing will be over.

But with the new emergence videos BHT's and Shekau and Mohammed Yusuf son being appointed has new leader ISAP, it's like they are better armed and determined.

Al-Shabab gunmen attack beach restaurant

At least six people have been killed after al-Shabab fighters attacked a beach restaurant in the capital Mogadishu with a car bomb before entering into a gunfight with security forces, according to police and the group.

"A car bomb exploded at Banadir beach restaurant at Lido beach and there is exchange of gunfire. We have no other details so far," Major Ahmed Ibrahim, a police officer, told Reuters news agency on Thursday.

The al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabab group claimed responsibility for the attack.

"We attacked the Banadir beach restaurant and now our fighters are fighting inside it," Abdiasis Abu Musab, its military operation spokesman, told Reuters.

The Associated Press news agency reported that a car bomber had prematurely detonated an explosives-laden vehicle near the new Turkish embassy compound in the capital, according to a Somali police officer.

Al-Shabab has carried out a series of deadly attacks in Somalia to try to topple the Western-backed government.

In January, its militants stormed another restaurant on Lido beach, killing 17 people.

On Thursday, Reuters witnesses near the scene of the beach attack said the restaurant had been sealed off by security officers and that the attackers had lobbed grenades at the officers and fired at them.

They said they had also seen two bodies lying on the ground.

Internal Security Minister Abdirizak Omar Mohamed said on his Twitter account: "Warning: People near the blast scene should stay in the hotels and in their houses in which they are inside. Cars should not enter Lido beach area."

Al-Shabab was pushed out of Mogadishu by the African Union peacekeeping force AMISOM in 2011 but has remained a potent threat in Somalia, launching frequent attacks aimed at overthrowing the Western-backed government.

In a separate incident in southern Somalia, a roadside bomb believed to have been planted by al-Shabab militants wounded at three people in Baardheere town in Gedo region, Colonel Hussein Nur, a police officer in the town, told Reuters by phone.

Al-Shabab was pushed out of Mogadishu by the African Union peacekeeping force AMISOM in 2011 but has remained a potent threat in Somalia, launching frequent attacks aimed at overthrowing the Western-backed government.

On Sunday, more than 20 people were killed when its suicide bombers detonated two car bombs at a local government headquarters in Somalia's semi-autonomous Puntland region.

Did anybody watch and listen well from the airforce video; "WEAPONIZATION OF NAF ALPHA JET" recently posted.

The CAS was talking on cost effectiveness and I was shocked on something he said about a foreign company that was invited to assess the alpha jet only.

For the "ASSESMENT" only they charged #25M million naira, then how much will it cost to do the upgrades and the weapons restoration.....?

I must commend the CAS for concentrating and encouraging indigenous manpower and technology.

And the 3rd one to be upgraded and weaponized for combat.

The most interesting part of it is that it can carry a wide range of weapons that the contractors wouldn't have allowed it to carry.

Another indigenous value added technology, that foreign companies might not want to add unless if being paid for!
