I never cared what women did with their hair, as long as the fakeness wasn't masking deeper psychological issues. I like seeing radical black creativity from women rather than black insecurity.


Maybe we should be more vigilant about what chemicals (perms or not) goes in ours daughters hair while raising them with awareness of 'beautifully radical, creative, and black'.

Agree. Most times though, it actually masks "deeper psychological issues". It takes the desire to boost self-esteem to embrace those chemicals.
