Just to clarify, I didn't mean the car was pricey. It's just that at the moment I don't think I would want to go for a car in that price range so I can maintain my current level of expenditure,

my name is okoli ifunanya,i work with law union and rock insurance plc a subsidiary of skyebank plc.pls when you finally buys the car pls make sure u takes up a comprehensive motor insurance for the car.it covers loss or damage to own cars caused by accident, collision, ovrturning, fire and theft.it covers damage to third party property and bodily injury and/or death to third parties.

so u can see dat this is the best way to secure ur car dat u bought with u money esp at this critical times of economic recession and the rate is 5% we also do free tracking for cars above 2.5m.

pls for further briefing contact me on 08036627156 or mailchinny@yahoo.com

I'm sorry but I take exception to this allegation and I feel you should apologise. Usually I like to be discreet but since there are several parties already involved in this matter I feel I need to clarify the facts.

You advertised a Car https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-201680.0.html

I was interested and contacted you. I made an offer and we spoke on phone.

Don't forget my observations, It's a great car at a good price but there was a mileage disparity between what was reported on the Carfax and the actual mileage. You stated that Car was used in Canada which I have no objections to but I asked you to account for the extra 20,000 miles or so between when it was reported on Carfax and when it was shipped. This you were unable to do.

I spoke to your wife this afternoon and we had a pleasant conversation, I expressed my observations to her and she was still unable to account for those miles. She said she'd discuss with you and we'd keep it open.

It's a free world and I had previously expressed interest in a Honda Accord, I was in touch with Carshopper while I was out of the country and he began to bring my attention to several cars. I was surprised when he suggested an 07 Camry for a respectable price. I was further surprised when he offered me a car I was already in negotiationwith the owner. I immediately pointed to him that I knew all about the car and the issues I had with it and I declined his offer to negotiate on my behalf. You can confirm this from me.

I have no problem with you rasmur5 or carshopper who has been helpful so far. It's just that when people make false allegations (perhaps in error) I get upset. Your wife was very understandable in her conversation with me and I thought it unwise to point out to her that you were also talking with someone else about the car.

If you have any other observations, please state them I shall not hesitate to clarify.

I'm just sad at this,  embarassed

Not sure what you mean by disparity as the word would suggest something's wrong here. This is the Carfax:

The 22,991 is miles which is the equiv of the 37000km. The Carproof report doesn't show the mileage, but the car now has 81000km on it. If I said it now has 25000km that would be called a disparity. I bought the car from a dealership on the same date shown on the Carproof report, in Nov/08. I didn't ask about the gap because as my wife told you - the dealership is a reputable one and I'm not a fraudster myself so why get worried because 1 yr is unaccounted for? This is not the only car that has reporting that stopped a year ago, I have 2 other vehicles for sale and both have up to date reporting. From the CarProof report I sent you, you can see the reporting is "live" and if anything derogatory had happened it would be reported on there.

I asked you to account for the extra 20,000 miles or so between when it was reported on Carfax and when it was shipped. This you were unable to do.

How can I account for the gap when I hadn't purchased the car during that period? If you didn't know before - vehicle reports are based  on information provided to the reporting agencies. It's not the job of a seller to make up a story. I already crossed you off as serious buyer when you again asked my wife today for pics  of the car in Lagos because you can't go to Ikeja for a physical inspection.

That's the best I can do, the car is there for anyone to confirm if it's been used in Nigeria and the clearing documents confirm it's a new arrival. I really don't see the controversy and like my wife told you, if you're not comfortable with the car, no problem.

I thought it unwise to point out to her that you were also talking with someone else about the car.

My wife knows everything that's going on with the cars, infact she has more time than I do because I'm a busy professional. As my wife informed you, "there are several parties interested in the car including those off Nairaland and whoever comes up with the money first gets the car" so am unable to understand your surprise? If you haven't put money down on something, you can't expect the seller to stop talking with potential customers. I'm glad you and Carshopper can share notes and know that I offered you both the same last price.
Re: Honda Accord 2006/2007 Model Needed by Nobody: 10:38pm On Mar 03, 2009
Mr Rasmur,

Please don't get me wrong. You advertised a car with 81,000 kilometres, the Carfax says 37,000 kilometers, agreed that was a while ago.

The Carproof report you emailed me is dated 2007 and I cannot clearly see the stated mileage. I have done nothing to disparage your integrity and never said you were a fraudster (quoting your words).

All I said was reporting stopped too long ago and I'll need you to account for it in some way or the other, this you have still been unable to do. When I said unwise to mention to your wife, I meant that it wasn't needful to include those details in our discussions.

My surprise is why you chose to attack me on my own thread, all you needed to do was send me an email and we would have talked it over, please don't go all Igwe! on me.

By the way you offered Carshopper 2.7 while you offered me 2.9, please check your thread again,

The facts are simple, if you can ease my worry on the mileage, then we can deal. End of story.

Cheers cheesy

The Carproof report you emailed me is dated 2007

Here is the CarProof report, note the bolded information. Ask anyone that sells cars in Canada - CarProof gives live up to the minute information. It is totally untrue to claim it's reporting from 2007 when it clearly states 2008.

@ Carshopper - I even went as low as N2.7m at a point.
What's with the childish behavior?
You going to throw a tantrum here?
Are you trying to tell me the price wasn't listed at N3m before you contacted me?
Please take your drama elsewhere!!!

I said you offered me 2.9m. I never said that was what your wife said,

N20k is inconsequential.
Re: Honda Accord 2006/2007 Model Needed by Nobody: 11:05pm On Mar 03, 2009
The original file is too large to attach.

Anyway the report says no odometer records found. That's the only thing I had a problem with.

Besides, the run date is 2008 and not a live report like the Carfax, that is the issue.

Why is he disparaging me?
Re: Honda Accord 2006/2007 Model Needed by rasmur5: 12:09am On Mar 04, 2009
The original file is too large to attach.

Does this mean the file I sent you is different from the one above? It's the exact same thing showing time and date the report was obtained and the no odometer readings found comment is as above. There's no need to upload the file, all you have to do is copy and paste it like I did from my Word file.

Besides, the run date is 2008 and not a live report like the Carfax, that is the issue.

CarProof is as live as it gets, as confirmed by the time and date stamped on the report above - it reports to the minute unlike Carfax and costs CAD35 for each report, not unlimited reports for USD like CARFAX. Please check your facts before posting, how many untruths have we uncovered already?
l

Why is he disparaging me?

If you are referring to carshopper, I have no idea. You'll have to ask him. All I see is that he set up this grand scheme to draw your attention away from my Camry.

I said you offered me 2.9m. I never said that was what your wife said,

N20k is inconsequential.

I state again - that's a direct quote. I brought up the quote to buttress the fact that both you and Carshopper were offered the same last price.

By the way you offered Carshopper 2.7 while you offered me 2.9, please check your thread again,

What you may not realise is that this car was first listed before it was even shipped and before the exchg rate took a drastic turn. At some point, it was even listed for N2.7m- that is what my statement to carshopper relates to, I never offered to deal with him for N2.7m and it would be the height of mischief for anyone to interprete my statement to mean that. It's easy to see you took that quote out of context. That was my response to carshopper saying I formerly listed for N2.8m.

Might be a good idea to compare the exchg rate on Nov 23/2008 to what it is today. I doubt you'll admit it but the listed price at the time you contacted me was N2.9m which I raised to N3m (to provide for the Nigerian factor - people want to haggle no matter what)  after you first sent me an email and before I even knew your username on Nairaland.

As for attacking you on your own thread

rasmur5:

I'm guessing this is the reason for your mischief on my thread? desperation must feel terrible.

My comments were very clearly addressed to Carshopper, not you or maybe I'm dealing with the same individual? I don't play games, the whole setup with carshopper to impugn my integrity is not acceptable. I'm not trying to sell at all costs because car-selling is  not my source of livelihood and I will not let faceless individuals make baseless insinuations against my person or inventory.

As I stated before; this has now become very messy and I have no wish to do business with you. I'm sure Carshopper can find you something to suit your personality. I am also certain that I will sell my vehicle to the right buyer despite all the mischief and bad belle. What goes around comes around. Good luck.

Mr Rasmur,

I think you are getting touchy about a very simple issue which could have been clarified with a simple phone call. You have my number.

I was in negotiations with you over a Toyota Camry, while I was in negotiations with Carshopper over a Honda Accord.

Carshopper then drew my attention to a number of Camry cars of which your vehicle was one of them.

I told him I wasn't interested in that particular one stating the reason I gave to you.

I've said it over and over again that I have no issues with the car but the fact is that I wasn't comfortable with the amount of mileage that was unaccounted for. How hard is that to understand?

You have gone to great lengths to prove your legitimacy which in my opinion was never in question. I see no reason why your comments on your Camry should have appeared on a thread about a Honda Accord.

If you have issues with Carshopper then you should address them with him privately and not in the full glare of the public as you have chosen to.

I guess the fact that posts can be modified without a visible audit trail may have put your thread out of context. This one itself has also been modified so I can understand.

I don't understand what you mean by mischief and bad belle? Please explain to me in what way I have been mischevious to you? , about my personality I just don't get it. You don't even know me!

I never said you couldn't negotiate with other people about your car. As was said to me, "whoever brings the money first get the car" You are not car dealers but professionals trying to get some tax free income, right? I believe you, why can't you believe me too? sad

You are not desperate to sell so this charade is pointless. You should have ignored Carshopper and myself and simply carried on with the sale. After all desperate dealers take the cars to the desperate buyers! Yours is nicely parked in a very secure location waiting for all desperate buyers to journey from far and wide to view it.

It's all right then if you think this way of me. Let's leave it there then if you have nothing else to say.

That greedy snitch was right about those riff-raffs - Sisijinx, Gestapo, Wwheelz, Busy_body and Cosjo cool

It is clearly obvious now that there is the usual peace and quiet synonymous to the Autosection due to the conspicuous absence of those riff-raffs cool

Chin up Rasmur and hang in there, this too shall pass wink

What made you think so cheesy Why do you like taking panadol for other people's headache cheesy Even that Rasmur's post which you replied to with that long story of yours, was solely addressed to Carshopper cheesy

Don't let your conscience worry you my brother cheesy I was only commenting about the calmness and the orderly way your thread is flowing because those riff-raffs who alledgedly causes all the trouble in this section are gone na grin grin grin

If I must say, your budget is very good, so more car dealers should be along in a minute, tripping over themselves to be the lucky seller wink Wish you the best of luck with your purchase smiley
