The wise thing Otti would have done is to pick up his phone and congratulate Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.. Let Otti behave ... And go back to the bank where he belong

Please what is the true situation? will there be a re-run in the 3 LGAs or just in the wards and polling units reported to be affected in this LGAs. if election holds in just this Wards or Polling units instead of the whole 3 LGAs then Ochendo has indirectly gotten what he is looking for. The situation is not clear at all, can any one explain the true situation? The right thing should be the cancellation of the 3 LGAs which had outrageous results and everyone knows was cooked by Ochendo and his award winning cooks.

You didn't quote the complete sentence. It says he succeeded "to some extent".

Alex Otti, Ochendo And The Election Thieves In Abia State By Ifeanyi Amanze

Last Saturday April 11, something not totally unexpected happened in Abia State.
by Ifeanyi Amanze Apr 15, 2015

Last Saturday April 11, something not totally unexpected happened in Abia State. Governor Theodore Ahamefule Orji, who is better known by his moniker of ‘Ochendo Global’ (whatever that means), attempted to steal the people’s mandate and succeeded in actually doing so to some degree. Gov. Theodore Orji

It was a theft so brazen the entire country reacted with disgust and disbelief. For those of us who have followed this slimy character for eight years, he acted true to type. But even thieves have to know when the game is up. Like that old saying goes, there should be some honour among thieves.

But using honour and Ochendo in the same sentence would amount to an aberration. The man doesn’t know the meaning of the word; has never known the meaning of the word for eight years of running Abia State aground.

There are 17 Local Governments in Abia State. By the close of voting on Saturday, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Dr Alex Otti, was coasting home to victory in 11 of those 17 LGAs. The PDP’s Okezie Ikpeazu, Ochendo’s lackey, was staring imminent defeat in the face. The Ochendo camp knew the game was up. It was at this point that the cooking of figures commenced.

Earlier in the day during the vote, several correspondents covering the Abia governorship election had noticed the thuggery and brigandage on display from Aba North/South, Osisioma, Obingwa, Isiala-ngwa and just about everywhere else. Election materials arrived late in several polling units dotting the Abia landscape and ballot boxes were snatched in the full glare of the watching world before votes were even cast. On Ochendo’s orders, thumb-printing of snatched ballot papers continued far into the night. The thieves besieged the INEC office in Umuahia with their ballot papers in tow and rewrote results for fun. Armed with a financial war-chest from the coffers of the State, these thieves padded up the numbers from Osisioma, Obingwa and Isiala-ngwa where elections sparsely or never held and asked the INEC officials to name their prizes.

By Sunday, Obingwa, Osisioma and Isiala-ngwa had yielded unbelievable figures. In Obingwa for instance, voter turn-out had trumped those from everywhere else and by the padded figures, Obingwa had coughed out 83,000 votes for the PDP and Ochendo Global, while the APGA candidate was allotted a paltry 1,000 votes!! The entire world yelled and kicked. It was brazen, egregious stealing and everyone knew it. INEC announced that it was cancelling the results in the three affected LGAs but ate its own words when Ochendo showed up at the office of the electoral commission alongside the PDP national publicity secretary and other PDP bigwigs with loads of cash and cheque books. They made the Returning Officers and the Resident Electoral Commissioner (RECs) offers they couldn’t refuse and INEC said it would allow the inflated figures in the three LGAs to stand.

All of these is now public knowledge of course. Every son, daughter and resident of Abia State would tell you that the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the State is Alex Otti. The miracles from Obingwa, Osisioma and Isiala-ngwa have only served to underscore how far Ochendo and his camp would go to stay in power even in the face of the poor governance they’ve supervised for close to a decade. The people have voted these sorry lot out, but it is typical of the obdurate dog not to heed the hunter’s whistle.

The electoral officers in Abia State would do well to return the financial inducements they were given and announce Alex Otti as winner of the Abia Guber race when the rerun poll eventually holds. To do otherwise would be a real farcical travesty.

The world is watching. Abians are watching.

IF INEC MISTAKENLY, EVENTUALLY, KNOWINGLY OR UNKNOWINGLY DECLARES PDP CANDIDATE AS THE GOVERNOR OF ABIA STATE AGAINST THE WISH OF THE PEOPLE, THERE WILL BE "WAR WITHOUT END" IN ABIA STATE.

When APGA wants to rig Abia guber election

By Madubuko Hart

One Ifeanyi Amanze will not stop to expose himself to public ridicule where he was looking for “stomach infrastructure”. In an article he titled, “Alex Otti, Ochendo And The Election Thieves In Abia State”, he wanted to debase Governor Theodore Ahamefule Orji and the PDP in the state for the phony candidate of APGA, Alex Otti, who came into the party through the backdoor.

Against what Amanze wanted to mislead the world with, there was and will never be anytime that the governor or the party that he leads will rig election because one Otti is contesting. What Amanze failed to realize was that Otti is a political neophyte who will never win in any elections in the state except through rigging as his party did in the last governorship and House of Assembly elections. The prompt response of Abia people who shouted hoax helped to checkmate them. Otti's evil deeds were exposed to the international community.

It wasn’t true that Otti was leading Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu (PhD) in 11 LGAs in the state out of 17 LGAs in the last guber election. This is the make-believe story of the looser’s agent who will stop at nothing to bark and bite like a mad dog he is because of the clear defeat APGA was experiencing in the hand of the PDP in the state.

The theft election materials that the state experienced in the hand of the APGA in the state in the last election were unprecedented. Otti and his party indeed acted true to who they were – desperados. Otti and the APGA were said to be in fraudulent activities while the election lasted. But today, the brain drained Amanze is writing garbage as usual to cast the governor and the PDP against the people.

While we await election in the areas that INEC have announced as inconclusive, it will be advisable to warn Otti and his hack agents like Amanze to desist from inglorious electoral activities as such will not pay them well. They should refrain from ballot snatching here and there. All of these are now public knowledge of course.

IS ABIA FOR SALE? He paid $10 million to buy the PDP nomination, and failed; He paid to buy the votes, and failed. Now he's paying to buy a fraudulent result! Abians are you for sale? Somebody should call Alex Otti to order immediately!!

I support pdp, but on this issue they are very wrong. Where were they when apc rigged them out vitually in all part of the country. They should go face apc their mate and live poor apga alone. Am saying this because my brother in Abia state affirmed that apga won. Moreover, you will agree with me that governor Orji is one among those governors whose bad leadership extinct pdp in Nigeria.

Ikpeazu has the experience, he has the proven integrity having worked as a lecturer and Abia will profit from having someone who is very well educated as governor. In terms of experience, he has served in various capacities in the university community and in government. He has been a local government chairman and even in Aba that we are trying to rebuild Aba, no one else is better positioned to reposition Aba as he understands the issues with the city more than another other candidate. The programme he has for Aba is better than that of any other candidate

The challenges of infrastructure, you know most of the infrastructure especially in Aba have been broken down. He will also face the challenge of bringing Abians together to come home and invest. However, listening to him campaign, I am confident that he is capable of meeting those challenges and overcoming them.

He lived in Aba, he served in Aba, so he understands Aba more than all these other candidates living outside. So, I am quite sure that he has the capacity and he has the ability to address those challenges and I am quite sure he is the best to address those challenges.

He has the ability and the capacity to face it. Okezie has only one house and it is in Aba and that tells you the degree to which he is attached to the place. The moment we build Aba, the other sides will just come up. Once we build Aba every other part of Abia will feel the impact

I am not supporting any other one. I am not looking elsewhere since I have seen the solution to all the problems. He is very humble and it takes a man of his capacity to address the issues at hand. I am supporting him and no other person. My support for him is absolute.

South west this south west that. Are PDP not in control of Ekiti and Ondo? Abi them no be south west states...mtcheww

The situation in Abia state is that of persona and not some party politics.

Reason along this line; Orji Uzi Kalu didn't deliver. He brought forth Theodore Orji, who also failed. Now Theodore wants to impose his own candidate on the good people of Abia state.

No de use your heart think jor, unless of course you have a synthetic brain. Hehe

The writter's use of phrases such as...the entire country reacted with disgust and disbelief... and ...the entire world reacted and yelled... made his case rather watery. Must he make unfounded exagerations in order to make a point ? It only shows that his allegations are baseless but just padding it up with lies to impress the unwarry.

Abia must be free from the grips of Ochendo and his family. Okezie Ikpeazu's problem is simply bacause he is T A Orji's Candidate. He may be good but it is difficult to believe he will be good because of his god father, as it seems nothing good can come from him. I am rather concerned about my Ngwa brothers who are making the mistake of thinking that having a Governor from your side automatically solves all your problems. It is good to let you know that most of T.A. Orji's kinsmen from Umuahia- Ibeku, Ohuhu, Olokoro etc are complaining and are not happy with their brother who they believe has rather been divisive, enriched himself and friends and has not developed their place. I hope most of you shouting Ngwa this and Ngwa that, won't come here some years later to start expressing regret and annoyance that Okezie has disappointed your expectation and enriched only his family and friends. Let's be objective and less tribalistic. Ask yourself (1) Assuming Okezie was not from your place (2) Given the way T A Orji has governed the state, would you have voted for any one he presents as his candidate? If you can answer this questions sincerely, then you will understand why the majority of Abians who have no direct ties to either Otti or Okezie have chosen to vote for Otti.
