Well I will say in comparison, one can put any cars in comparison driving them is d ultimate decider of the supreme machine, whether the accord is their big brother makes no difference. I should be able to compare any car as long as there's engine. Mind you the main reason for using a car is commuting ; luxury, performance, style etc are all secondary..... Please Nairalanders enough of this itk that's why @cityng quarrels with almost everyone here.

The issue is that OP asked a very generic question that is subjective.

Someone may actually like a Civic over an Accord for personal reasons and vice versa. Has OP asked which was more powerful, which had more braking power, which had more interior volume then it would have been more effective. I think.

The thing is that over here you can compare any car to any car, even and especially on the race tracks. There's a saying here that "run what you brung" which basically means no story race what you have against any car that line sup against you.
