Why MultiChoice Will Not Reduce New 'DSTV' Rates

The whole process of adjusting the Multichoice monthly subscription rate is necessitated by the devaluation of the Naira by our FG.
Before the June 2014 our exchange rate for dollar was N165 to 1 USD. Now when you paid N11,000, Multichoice exchanged it for 66.67 USD (11,000/165) but after the devaluation of Naira it started exchanging for some N200+ to 1 USD. so your 11,000 is now worth only $55 USD(11,000/200+).
This will strangle Multichoice because they are used to paying their bills like Premiership transmission right, salary, Satellite maintenance in dollars.
What they do in this case is to adjust their rate as if Nigerians were paying in dollars before the devaluation.
Now that's the new value of $66.67 in a devalued naira setting, which is the current state of our economy, that gives N13,333 (66.67 X 200+).

Most folks shouting here in Nigeria are so used to MTN free browsing and Aluta Continua in Sch. that they think it is their right to fix the price of services they enjoy.
If anybody should cry foul here it is the Multichoice staffs. because they should be paid at the dollar rate of the old pay to cushion the devaluation effect. somebody getting 165,000 when Naira exchanged for N165 should be getting 200,000+ when dollar exchanged for 200+ and subscription was increased accordingly.
