waywardpikin:Sigh.. Then we should all learn the act of constructive criticism to avoid hurt feelings in the future.
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by cao(f): 10:35pm On Sep 09, 2017
Kingrapha:I liked Arrival, but this is simply a sequel to Blade Runner, which is nothing like Arrival.
waywardpikin:WW reminds me of CA:TFA, they both play like golden age comics come to life on the big screen. They told a coherent story and stayed true to her character. Let's be frank, story-wise they stayed on track with the point and didn't try to put everything and the kitchen sink into it. It was a fish out of water story, in fact, it was 2 fish out of water stories - Diana's and Steve's. Plus, the emotional moment in the climax worked, even if the climax is known for its over reliance on CGI & that bloody moustache! There was also character development, Diana started out as naive and saw everything in black and white, but thanks to the short time she spent with Steve and co, by the end of the film, she realised that man's world isn't black and white, it's grey. Plus, Jenkins brought out some actual acting chops out of Gadot and now she really is Diana, Princess of Themyscira AKA Wonder Woman.
It's quite the shame that Allen Heinberg isn't coming back, his script was good, not perfect or great, but better than the previous fare from BvS & SS. Yes, I had fun watching SS, but the plot was just rubbish, the first act made me wish they just did origin films for the characters or made the film like 5 hours long. Well, everybody knows how much BvS annoyed me, even though I actually understood what they were trying to do, they should have simply released the ultimate cut, 'cause the fake Superman massacre didn't make a lick of sense, since they never showed us or told us, we had to turn into detectives to sort that one out. Plus, the theatrical cut made Clarke into an incompetent investigative reporter. Yes, Snyder visual director, but not great storyteller. I will not talk about Alexander Luthor, Jr. Any non-comic fan that followed the film from MoS would have been hella confused with the nightmare sequence.
Minemrys:I actually really liked Homecoming, it's just a shame it was the third reboot. ASM shouldn't have happened. Inhumans turned into a sinking ship, that only one Marvel TV executive really wants, hence why we're getting what looks like a craptastic and cheap Inhumans tv series. Plus, the disconnect this Inhumans might have with the Inhumans on Earth from AoS will just provide further diconnect the MCU TV shows have with the MCU films. That guy should have just let it go. I'm actually more ticked off about the standalone Black Widow film that they passed up. Then, they tried to dangle the possibility years later and we all just side eyed them.
They're rushing WW because it really resonated with the public, right now she's even bigger than DCEU Supes in the public eye. They should just get scriptwriter back as well. Yes, Hollywood needs variety, but the problem is when they get fresh original ideas, they kind of kill it by not advertising it or just interfere so much it turns shtako or they get really limited releases.
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Kingrapha(m): 10:58pm On Sep 09, 2017
they both have same neo-noir themes to it...
so if you like arrival you "may" like blade runner
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys: 11:01pm On Sep 09, 2017
cao:you like homecoming? O. M. G, i'd rate the tobey maguire films and ASM over it. I saw no need in the movie to be honest. What new info or development did the film add to the Mcu? Seriously, n0thing. They explained Mcu's spiderman in civil war, we didn't need an0ther film featuring him again. And seriously, this is how WB is ruining their films, fast tracking ww 2 for a 2019 release? Come on, it cheapens the importance of the character cos by then no one would really care about Diana after seeing her in 4 films straight up. Thats what they did with the superman and batman films till they lost value. There are other characters they could make m0ney out of. Justice league dark, crime syndicate, booster gold, reverse flash etc but they won't bank on that. They're banking on gotham siren, joker film, joker and harley, harley spin off, nightwing, batgirl that no one wants. Maybe so0n they'd be banking on a steve trevor or etta candy m0vie. Hollywood is loosing it. And the worst thing killing the m0vie industry is propaganda. Making m0vies to please the gay group, feminists, supremacists, fanatics etc instead of focusing on the art of story telling.
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by cao(f): 11:08pm On Sep 09, 2017
Kingrapha:Nope, they have the same director, but they certainly don't have the same themes at all at all. Arrival ain't neo noir, it's a drama. Nope. One is about replicants and what it means to be human and really wanting to be seen as human, based on a Philip K. Dick novel. While, the other is basically a story about communication and the life of a woman, who learns an alien language that allows her to live her life in a non-linear fashion, who decides to still live her life in the same way, even though she knows what lies ahead...that also happens to have aliens in it, based on a short story by Ted Chiang.
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Kingrapha(m): 11:17pm On Sep 09, 2017
cao:yup I said kind of Neo noir because of the gritty nature of both not cause of the characters.... and both movies have the same feel to it...I get your point though Arrival was more of a drama... but they both have dark themes.... I meant noir in sense of dark mysterious and shadowy not cynical crime stories
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by cao(f): 11:25pm On Sep 09, 2017
Minemrys:ASM's Peter Parker is a hipster and way too cool. ASM2 is just them trying to cram everything in there to make a shared universe...and failing. That Rhino & Spidey fade to black ending is just a slap in the face, since it was heavily featured in the marketing, only to lead to nothing. BvS lost the plot because it was trying to set up a shared universe too quickly, thereby not telling a proper story about the two folks it was supposed to be about.
WW is nowhere near as saturated as Bats and Supes, so slow your roll. Or have you forgotten that Supes & Batman are on their own reboots? WB/DC has been rushing this since they started their DCEU, they should focus on their current projects, Flash is still free-falling. But, I can understand WW, as long as the production goes as smoothly as its previous one, it will be fine. That's not propaganda, it's representation, deal with it. The current climate is diverse, in fact, it has always been diverse, we are simply living in a time where women can actually have a say and LGBTQ can actually state their sexuality without consequence - of course there are still consequences, even in our own country, but compared to say a worldwide stigmata like Oscar Wilde and Alan Turing being prosecuted for their sexuality in the past, even after what Turing did in the war for the Brits, he still got chemically castrated for being a gay man afterwards. Now, as for the fanatics, bigots and whatnots with actual propaganda, well that one na another thing.
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Kingrapha(m): 11:29pm On Sep 09, 2017
it's a joke o,
I don't see the problem with gay characters as far as they are part of the society the should be equally represented.
Homecoming had to happen because of the deal with Sony...end of the day Sony and Disney were both winners. homecoming was actually funny and entertaining.
leave WW be let them milk her.. it's her turn to be milked. with 6 superman movies 7 batman movies.. WW seems like the only member of the trinity to not be getting any attention... now they are giving her attention you are complaining.

Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys: 11:56pm On Sep 09, 2017
Kingrapha:i guess i'd be d0ne with the dceu after JL then. If they intend to shoehorn ww in everything.. And as 4 h0mec0ming, am n0t sure it was what s0ny was expecting. The only pers0n winning n0w l0oks like disney. S0ny coulda made ASM 3 and other spidey spin offs had they n0t chickened out and deletd alot of materials fr0m ASM 2 or cancelled spiderman 4 out of pride and greed. Being a h0m0ph0be may n0t be bad. Least, it makes me feel sane in a crazy world.

750+ million is a win for Sony.... with the sequel coming after IW it "should" gross over a billion...
why do you keep threatening the dceu and WB with your departure you are not going anywhere we need your money for b.o numbers lol
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 6:05am On Sep 10, 2017
Great contributions and conversations so far, I think WB is to business-minded. They want to count $$$ without working hard for it. Look at how many times they tried to reboot Superman franchise until their success with DCEU's version. Currently, I will blame Geoff Johns for accepting all sort of DCEU projects without justification. Why should you greenlight WW 2 before flash? Where is MOS 2? The guy seem clueless about the direction of DCEU. Instead, they decide to expand the lore of Batman and WW. MOS gave birth to the current DCEU and it deserves a sequel. Anyway, I will take a siddon look approach to upcoming DCEU projects after Aquaman. I don't want to expect too much from them.

Minemrys:if you know how annoyed I feel that we'll get a sequel to WW before MoS. Blame it on Snyder!!!!
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Minemrys: 3:56pm On Sep 11, 2017
efilimu:kai. U no dy tire? You've c0me with this your blame it on snyder again. Is it snyder thats holding the MOS sequel? Whats stopping wb fr0m hiring a different director and writer for it just like they did suicide squad? What else? The man's g0ne. What do u need again?
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by efilimu(m): 4:00pm On Sep 11, 2017
Minemrys:My oga no vex. You know my stance on Snyder since day one. But you are right by saying it rests on the shoulders on WB. And if you've noticed, WB are in the habit of hiring directors they've worked with before.
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by 740megawatts: 5:00pm On Sep 11, 2017
Has anyone watched the recent animated DC live action, Batman and Harley Quinn? I don't really understand the ending? Anyone care to explain? I see Bruce Timm was trying to pull "The Killing Joke" ending.
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by 740megawatts: 5:22pm On Sep 11, 2017
Zack Snyder will still have creative interests in the DCEU moving forward, according to WB. Although, I think he might be uninterested in directing any movies for DC for the next 3-4 years. He already has a war movie pencilled down after JL for WB. But we might therefore be seeing him as producer for upcoming DC projects.
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 6:14pm On Sep 11, 2017
I suspect MOS 2 will be announced after JL. Announcing it now might be too early as Superman has a uncompleted arc in JL for now. Just my though.

I'm thinking Suicide Squad 2 is going to take a 2018 release date...guys what do you think about this??
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by Kingrapha(m): 7:14pm On Sep 12, 2017
xtin007:I'm thinking 2020....
5 films go into production in 2018
wonder woman 2 and
because of smith's schedule..... filming for SS2 begins fall of 2018 to release maybe early 2020 and gavin O'connor is yet to start the story treatment...
meanwhile production is ongoing for shazam, the batman and WW 2
with shazam to begin filming by Feb 2018
Aquaman is the only film ready for a 2018 release date....
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 8:23am On Sep 14, 2017
Featurette on Wonder Woman. I can see that Zack Snyder was the true architect of this movie.
Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TonySpike: 8:51am On Sep 14, 2017
Extra scenes from Wonder Woman movie. I wonder why the Motherbox mission scene was removed from the theatrical version though.

What do you think of Matthew Vaughn's recent discussion on Superman for MOS 2? He proposed to making superman more colourful and joyful taking us to the days of Donner Superman. Do you think we need another "Donnerized" Superman after the several flopped attempts by WB to relive it? By the way, I don't see his new movie (Kingsman 2: The Gold Circle) doing well at the cinema after poor initial critical ratings (RT score of 57 and Metacritic score of 49). I think WB should be very careful in appointing this guy as the director for MOS 2.
