Premier League hit by Uefa changes.
The Premier League will have only one top-seeded
club in next season's Champions League after
Uefa introduced new regulations.
For the 2015-16 campaign, the eight top seeds
will be the champions from Europe's top seven
leagues and the competition's holders.
The change in rules should lead to more of
Europe's major clubs meeting each other in the
group stage.
Previously teams were seeded by Uefa's rankings,
based on results in Europe.
That meant Chelsea and Arsenal were both in pot
one for the group-stage draw at the start of the
season.
But, as there is no Premier League side left in this
year's competition, only the English champions
will be placed among the top seeds next season.

no, they will qualify should the 4th placed team wins their play off. what it means is that, before now Chelsea, Arsenal and Man united used to be in the same pot as top seeded teams along with barce and others due to their ranking system......

But now only the champions of the top 7 leagues in Europe along with the current holders will be in the same pot as top seeded teams. i.e you wil have

1. Champions of spain
2. Champions of England
3. Champions of Italy
4. Champions of Germany
5. Champions of France
6. Champions of Netherland
7. Champions of Portugal and
8. Current champions league holders
has top seeded teams.

Those that will be bitting their fingers for the change of rule will be................. Man city!!!

That means only Arsenal will be in the pot.

A situation whereby a club did a double ( being League Champion and UCL winner), who will take the remaining top seed? Its a nice rule and which season will it be implemented? People will pray to be drawn against the winners of the 'eredivise'

am not sure but obviously the top seed has to go to the next ranked league....



It starts next season, 2015/2016 season.

am not sure but I think I heard it somewhere like it is in terms of league position i.e Arsenal will be in pot 2 if they finish second in the league table and Man united in pot 4 along with other teams who finished in the same league position in their respective leagues.







Note; I have not verified this yet....
