While everyone claimed GEJ was the most corrupt Nigerian president because he surrounded himself with corrupt politicians, Buhari's govt is not looking any different so far. Everyone knows who Tinubu is and that's no news, now Buhari has just chosen Timipriye Sylva, someone who we all know was arrested by the EFCC for N48 billion fraud. aresa: I'm concerned because GMB's campaign was built around his so called "incorruptible" personality. He/ his government shouldn't have anything to do with corruption or corrupt individuals, that was part of why GEJ's govt failed. So it is now right for GMB to surround himself with the same thing? @OP, So you have not realised that corrupt people are all those who are not "progressives"? For example, me noblezone even though I have never worked for any government be it Local, State or Federal is among the "corrupt" because I have said I will never be a "progressive". But somebody like Amechi (who chided us "We (politicains) steal because you (Nigerians) do not throw stones" and boasted "I want to steal $1B" and declared how he spent N1B to fight ebola) is a "progressive" and is not corrupt! This is the complete news article. People please read it well and comprehend. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has been named by the federal government as the chairman of the Inauguration Committee of the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari. Also named in the 27-man committee is a former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, who will serve as a co-Chairman of the committee. The committee is mandated to draw up programmes for the inauguration ceremony, arrange invitations and accommodation for foreign and local dignitaries, organize approved programme of activities, draw up budget for the programme of activities and co-opt into sub-committees, persons that may be necessary to assist in the discharge of the various activities. Speaking to State House correspondents at the end of the meeting of the committee on Thursday at the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Anyim said the programmes that have been outlined for the inauguration included a Jumat service, an interdenominational church service, inauguration dinner, the swearing-in ceremony, a lunch and a gala night. Other members of the committee from the outgoing government include the Chief of Defence, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Bala Mohammed, Minister of Water Resources, Sarah Ochekpe; Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, Minister of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, Edem Duke, Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Akon Ayakenyi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali and the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro. Others include the representative of the Office of the National Security Adviser, Bello Fadile, the Inspector-General of Police, Minister of State for Defence, Col. Austin Akobundu (retd.), Commander, Brigades of Guards, Brig. Gen. A. B. Omozoje and Mrs. Ibukun Odusote, Permanent Secretary, Presidency (Office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation). Inauguration is for the "party/play" side which is co-chaired by Timi Transition is for the "real work" side Besides, GMB needs to carry everyone along, the position he puts them tells how serious he is with his planned reforms. 2 Likes |
