Nigerian Airforce is the best in terms of pay and career growth. It's d least corrupt force and they take better care of their officers and airmen( their barracks is a testament) Nigerian army second lieutenants tk home about 220k it's d least amond the three, Nigerian navy officers tk home about 250k and airforce about 260k. Nigerian police on the other hand tk home about 140k for cadet ASP and it's d most corrupt outfir. Hence the reason there are highly unprofessional.

This is simply the reason why our armed forces personnel would run, sorry I mean go on a tactical maneuver at the slitest noise of a banger Just imagine the op asking for the salary structure of our armed forces, you begin to ask what happened to passion. A police recruit earns a consolidated annual salary of N108, 233, 00 and a monthly consolidated salary of N9, 019.42 but when N676.46 is deducted as pension, the recruit goes home with N8, 342.96.

A police constable on grade level 02 (1) earns a gross monthly salary of N42, 508.13 while the one on grade level 02 (10) earns a total of N46, 840.86 with rent.

A police constable grade level 03 (1) earns a gross monthly salary of N43, 293.80 while the one on step 10 earns N48,619.16 including rent while a corporal on grade level 04 (1), earns N44,715.53 and a corporal on grade level 04 (10) goes home with N51,113.59 per month including rent subsidy.

The gross monthly salary of a police sergeant on grade level 05 (1) is N48, 540.88 while a Sergeant on step 10 earns N55, 973.84.

For senior officers, the package appears relatively improved.

That's the problem, most folks see the military or its allied as civil service jobs where salaries can be gotten. Once we encounter a national security threat, they just take off their uniforms and leave the force. The force is for highly patriotic people, as a matter of fact, their level of patriotism has been taken to another level where they can now die for what they believe in. We need to reverse this trend, it is bad for our country. You should only be in the military and its allied if you have the required drive/patriotism.

You wanna join the force and your first take is on the salary structure - very wrong take my friend.

Am not bitter but in as much as we are in a social forum its not everything that should be divulge online,even those wrking in the force may not be privilege to know the exact amount unless u re in the finance section. Our youths of today are so money conscious that they believe in shortcut, most of them will join the force and become moles due to greed. Mind you its a selfless service you rendering to your country its not about the cash.
