All is now set for a smooth and credible supplementary IMO state guber election ,weekend, as 6 more commissioners, plus the state Resident Electoral commissioner are drafted to the state for the decider election. Briefing newsmen in Owerri, Thursday, in preparatory to the rerun election, the embattled Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,commissioner in the state, Dr Gabriel Adah disclosed that 3 federal commissioners and 3 Resident Electoral Commissioners have been moved to the state to help him to ensure a transparent process. Dr Adah said that the commission was aware of how important the election is to the people of the state and is not letting any stone unturned towards conducting a free and fair election. The INEC chief disclosed that while the total number of registered voters where the supplementary election will take place stands at 148,407 ,only 113,803 voters are eligible to vote on the election day because of the permanent Voter's Cards distribution rate in the affected areas. |
