Entries must fall within the genre of Islamic Fiction, which is defined by MWP as creative, imaginative, non-preachy fiction books written by Muslims and marketed primarily to Muslims. Islamic. …The content of these books incorporates some religious content and themes, and may include non-fictionalized historical or factual Islamic content with or without direct reference to the Qur’an or the traditions of the Prophet (pbuh). The stories may also include modern, real life situations and moral dilemmas.

Submission guidelines

Submissions open March 10 – April 30 2015
Competition is open to all Nigerian Muslims between the ages of 15 and 35. Young Muslims from outside the country may also apply.
Only previously unpublished work is allowed
Word limit: 2500
maximum 1 story per person
Only electronic submissions are welcomed. Send your submission to submission@cerath-press.com, your subject must be ‘2015 Competition’
Submissions must be sent as Word document attachments
Please include a 50 word bio and contact details in your entry.

Prize: The overall winner will get #10, 000 and three Islamic books. Two runners up will get three Islamic books each and have their story appear in our annual anthology of Islamic literature.

About the Competition

Endowed by the Jannatul Alliyah Foundation, the prize will be administered by Cerath Press. The competition will be held quarterly. The aim of the competition is to encourage literature among young Muslims. Best 10 entries in a year will be featured in an anthology of Islamic literature that will be released at the end of every year.
