Ehen! That is what you should have said first, the Lugardian "Republic" of Nigeria is a useless waste of space that was going to die a natural death not even 10 years after its "independence" until the owners of Nigeria disagreed and kept the Frankensteins or Lugardians monster together. Apart from this, Nigeria is a massive failure, it's going nowhere. It is moribund. Anybody saying otherwise is either trying to console you or trying to deceive you and steal from a sinking damned ship. I know Nigeria was damned for sure when a Boko Haram activist and ex-dictator, who can barely stand and recite what his party's acronym stands for, was reelected in his 80s. That is blasted embarrassing and you cannot use the jungle "republic" to brag for the black race.

Actually you are the one with the jungle mentality, seeing that you are rejecting the results of a transparent election in Africa's largest democracy. Nigerians owe you no apologies for their electoral choice. You need to get with the program or get left out. That we peacefully changed leadership through the ballot box for the first time in our history is a sign of growing political maturity. That's progress.

So you agree it is embarrassing?

An average person in Botswana would migrate to Western Europe given the same proximity. The populations are not in the same level of comfort, alcohol or not. Anyway that's not the case here, there is open technological information, it isn't a secret.
that's a baseless argument coming from an African suffering from inferiority complex, why would any Tswana immigrate to Poland?

There is nothing ''embarrassing'' about Buhari being elected. Nigerians are intelligent people. They see him as someone who at this time can bring more sanity into the system, and end the security challenges up north. Nigerians know he's not the most educated fella that could govern them. But they are intelligent enough to realise that he can delegate technocratic duties to astute, qualified hands.

So is it the ten year olds that were intelligent voters, or the malloo, cattle and other wildlife who were registered voters?

Mr Man, Buhari won by over 2 million votes. There is no argument. He swept the south west too. Local and international observers adjudged the elections credible.

I don't care about Buhari and other Obama puppets. They will invite Africom and US military into Nigeria as they are already planning and I will laugh at the Zoo as it crumbles.

I'll come back to this post in 2019 when Buhari is reelected.

I hope your laugh of misery doesn't turn to tears of agony by then.

Those that hope for misery will live in misery. 4 years of internal misery ....... I hope you survive the battle.

I will laugh at the zoo as it remains in the same decrepit state or worse as it is now. Africom here we go.

No dear, if we like, we Nigerians will re-elect whomever we desire. That's democracy.

Laugh as you may, our wishes will come to pass.

Your cry or laughter changes none of that.

I guess the guy who started this thread has his answer now. You've been left to manage a simple question, and you've turned the thread into an endless querrel about stuff that don't matter. instead of enganging in real debate about the short , mid and long term goals and visions about your respective coutries so as to emerge as world powers that citizens of respective countries enjoy freedom and prosperity and good health care, employment, manufacturing industry, quality education, school syllabus that is relevant to our needs, government sponsoring scientific innovations and research,
you have instead turned the thread into a bitter dispute about SA vs Nigeria

------
My own opinion is that no matter what happened in the past about who was collonised and sh!8t, Africa will never emerge as world powers as long as innovation doesn't come from us. In this mordern times, it is only scientific innovations that determine who controls the game, If the US controlls the technology and innovation, then he controls the design and manufacturing technology industry of the world, If china has a little innovation and a little 'fake it till you make it' (copy paste) and a lot of raw materials, then she can control the supply and manufacturing and assembly industry.

None of the top 15 world powers got there without going through some form of industrial revolution followed by an innovation and technology driven revolution.
For us Africans, having raw material to sell to the world should not be enough, we should have the capability to discover it through our own technology, extract it add value and use it for our own industry before selling the rest. But as long as the developed world is the one in control of the technology and the know how, we will always be dependent on their technology and innovation for our survival

No African country is an artificial invention. History shows dat wars hv always been fought & d victors always carve out d territories of d vanquished in a manner pleasing 2 them. There r so many examples in history. D invasion of Europe by d Romans, USA, d Red Indians & Canada, Australia & d Aborigines, d English colonized Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland etc. Even d borders d white men met when they came were not d original borders. Our folklore teaches us dat various wars hv been fought in d past & territories were either gained or lost.

With yr philosophy, d natives at d time d Whiteman came can also claim dat d borders at dat time were artificial. They could claim dat they were artificially conceived by d victor Kings, Obas, Sultans & Emirs 4 their convenience. Dis kind of thinking doesn't help matters & does not lead 2 progress.

What it is is what it is. White men came & conquered. A new law & order reigned over d people. Nigeria is Nigeria. There is nothing artificial about our borders. All countries hv had their borders carved out one way or d other and Nigeria not different. What we make of ourselves now is wat is important. Things abt artificial borders r an unnecessary distraction.

You are correct in everything that you are saying, however in the case of Africa it's different. Europeans come from a TOTALLY different part of the world with a TOTALLY different culture and way of life. The same can be said for the colonization of the Americas except most of the natives of the Americas were significantly more primitive than Africans and most of them are dead today. Most Africans are alive and well and the entire continent was conquered within 50 years. That is the only time in history that an entire continent (with the exception of Ethiopia and Liberia) that an ENTIRE CONTINENT still predominantly existing of it's natives was conqured. Not to mention Africa has the widest variety of ethnic groups in the world. This inevitably lead to more problems and cultural clashes than something like the English colonization of Scotland.

Dat d Europeans came 4rm a different part of d world with a different culture does not matter. What matters is d strength of d 2 peoples. D strong will conquer d weak & impose their culture & tradition on them. Hong Kong was colonized by d British. Wud u say dat d current borders of Hong Kong r artificial?

Or r u insinuating dat out present borders wud hv been more legitimate if we were conquered by another African nation instead of d European? D Ibo & Yoruba who live in dsame country hv very different cultures. In fact d Ibo & Yoruba wud refer 2 themselves as coming 4rm 2 different parts of d land. Wud u say a Yoruba occupation of Ibo land wud b more legitimate than an English occupation of Ibo land? Things don't work like dat. It is strength and not proximity dat determines d outcome of war.

Black African's hv a unique biological system dat others races in d world don't hv. We can survive & adapt under hardship. We r physically & mentally strong and can work and remain active even in very difficult, unfriendly and inhumane conditions. It was dis quality d Whiteman capitalized on during d era of slavery. Other races (eg Indians) dat they tried slavery with could not survive it & were dying.

D reason y we r still much in dis continent is because we r survivors & we don't die. Our polygamous culture ensures dat our population is growing @ a geometric rate.

Nigeria is not first nation 2 b conquered/colonized and we r not d last either. Like I said earlier. What it is is what it is. History teaches us dat it is d winner dat makes d decisions & not d loser. Nigeria is Nigeria. Africa is Africa. D past is d past. We r now in d present. Wat we make of d future is on us.

What makes it different is that Hong Kong is merely an island and has a strong literate history and culture closely linked to the giant, ancient country due north of it. Africa is an ENTIRE CONTINENT and it was conquered by a totally different race of man in a very short amount of time. This culture forced their history and way of life on Africans and completely destroyed all of it's historical trade and economical balances that had been forged over the millenia. To expect an entire continent with thousands of ethnic groups crammed in many different artificially made countries speaking languages that are not ANY of their own, learning history of other countries and writing systems of other countries. To expect them to just rise together and make things better is asking alot and something like that will take a very long time to do.

I hv 2 agree with u here.

"To expect them to just rise together and make things better is asking alot and something like that will take a very long time to do"

D journey ahead is not going 2 b an easy 1. But this is d situation we r faced with. I know it is difficult but we hv 2 accept d past & move on with our lives. If we don't accept it, then it means we should b looking 4ward 2 another war 2 settle d scores.
